Wingenter (shoulder) completed a bullpen session Thursday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

The side session was Wingenter's second in three days, suggesting he's progressing well in his recovery from right shoulder inflammation. The Padres will reassess Wingenter's condition Friday and could activate him from the 10-day injured list at some point during the weekend.

Manager Andy Green said Thursday that Strahm's pitch counts will be monitored throughout the season, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. "We're going to take care of him all season long, like we do Chris [Paddack]," Green said of Strahm. "We're going to still try to limit the number of pitches he throws on a daily basis and still try and have an opportunity to win every game."

Though Paddack and Strahm have shined out of the rotation this season, the Padres remain mindful of not overworking the two pitchers after both covered less than 100 innings in 2018. Strahm's restrictions were a byproduct of pitching almost exclusively out of the bullpen last season, so he may be subjected to a shorter leash during his starts even when he's cruising. Strahm has eclipsed the 90-pitch mark in just one of his eight starts and should continue to receive at least five days off between turns. He lines up for his next outing Tuesday against the Diamondbacks at home.

Guzman gave up two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings while striking out a season-high 10 for Double-A Jacksonville on Thursday.

The 10 whiffs tied his career high. Guzman, acquired from the Yankees in the Giancarlo Stanton deal, is still trying to refine his command -- he's walked multiple batters in six straight starts and seven of eight on the season, leading to a 44:22 K:BB through 44 innings -- but he's still improved on last year's rough 6.0 BB/9 at High-A. His high-octane fastball will keep earning him chances as a starter, but if the 23-year-old doesn't start to put things together soon, a move to the bullpen could be in his future.

Yates picked up the save against the Pirates on Thursday, striking out one without allowing a baserunner over a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 4-3 victory for the Padres.

It was business as usual for the right-hander, who now has 17 straight saves without a blown opportunity to start the season. He's been making the most of his plethora of opportunities on a Padres team playing a lot of close games, and his 1.29 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 38:8 K:BB have allowed him to act as one of the top closers in baseball to this point in the season.

Iglesias picked up the save against the Cubs on Thursday, striking out two with no hits and no walks over a scoreless ninth inning to close out a 4-2 victory for the Reds.

Iglesias picked up his ninth save in 10 opportunities, needing 12 pitches to dispatch of the Cubs in order and successfully protect the two-run lead. His 3.63 ERA and 1.25 WHIP through 22.1 innings aren't spectacular, but Iglesias does sport a 33:8 K:BB and a firm grasp on the role as the top option as Reds closer.

Munoz picked up the save while striking out two in a perfect inning for Double-A Amarillo on Wednesday.

Munoz is posting impressive numbers in Double-A so far, but the most notable aspect of this outing was that he threw a pitch that clocked at 104 mph, per Bill Center of Padres.com. He regularly hits triple digits on the gun, and the blistering velocity has helped him post a 1.93 ERA and three saves over 14 innings. At 20 years old, he remains the most enticing minor-league reliever and could be in line for a move to Triple-A El Paso in the near future.

Uceta has a 1.89 ERA and 42 strikeouts over 33.1 innings for High-A Rancho Cucamonga this season.

The right-hander was impressive for Low-A Great Lakes last season, posting a 3.25 ERA and a 103:27 K:BB over 99.2 innings, and he's off to an even more impressive start in High-A as he's allowed no runs in four of seven starts thus far with an 11.34 K/9. While Uceta wasn't known as a particularly high-rated prospect, he's pitched his way into the conversation as a standout performer in the lower levels of the Dodgers' system. If he continues to dominate, he could see a move to Double-A Tulsa sooner rather than later.

Chargois was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Chargois failed to make an appearance during his most recent stint with the big club. Caleb Ferguson was reinstated from the injured list Thursday and will take Chargois' place on the roster and in the bullpen.

Ferguson (oblique) was activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

As expected, Ferguson is back with the Dodgers ahead of Friday's series opener against the Reds. Prior to landing on the shelf, the southpaw compiled a 3.46 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 14:8 K:BB in 13 innings. J.T. Chargois was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Brebbia fired a scoreless sixth inning in which he allowed no hits or walks and recorded two strikeouts in a loss to the Braves on Wednesday.

The right-handed reliever is enjoying a stellar season overall, although his most recent appearance prior to Wednesday represented his one blowup of the season. Brebbia allowed three earned runs on three hits and a walk over an inning to the Pirates last Sunday, but his clean inning against Atlanta brought his ERA down to 1.90. The 28-year-old also has seven holds and boasts an impressive 27 strikeouts over 23.2 innings.
