Young will start Friday against the Nationals instead of Saturday as originally scheduled, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

A reason for the switch has not yet been provided. The decision has minimal fantasy impact, though he does now get to square off against Joe Ross instead of Stephen Strasburg.

Either way, this looks like a mess, even if Garcia gains a slight edge.

Brigham (1-0) struck out two over two perfect innings of relief Thursday to pick up the win in an extra-innings victory over the Twins.

The right-hander shut down Minnesota's bats in the 11th and 12th, and then got rewarded with his first big-league win when Harold Ramirez slugged a walkoff homer. Brigham's 4.60 ERA through 15.2 frames isn't pretty, but his 96 mph fastball and 21:7 K:BB could earn him some high-leverage work in a Miami bullpen that's very unsettled coming out of the trade deadline.

Coonrod walked a batter over a scoreless inning in Thursday's 10-2 loss to the Phillies.

Coonrod was one of just two pitchers who managed to hold the Phillies' bats scoreless in a blowout loss. The 26-year-old has given up just one run over nine innings this year (7:5 K:BB ratio). Continued success could lead to the rookie seeing increased hold opportunities after the Giants dealt two of their right-handed relievers at the deadline.

Rodriguez (4-6) allowed seven runs (four earned) on eight hits with two walks and no strikeouts across three innings while taking a loss against the Phillies on Thursday.

This isn't how Rodriguez imagined he would return to the big leagues. The 27-year-old pitched well in his last outing July 15, but that was his only appearance for the Giants since June 30, as Rodriguez has spent his time at Triple-A. He gave up his first homer in the majors since June 19 and didn't strike out a batter for the first time in any start this year. Rodriguez has a 5.32 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 64.1 innings this season.

Yamamoto struck out eight but allowed four runs on seven hits with no walks across six innings during a no-decision against the Twins on Thursday.

Eight strikeouts set a new season high for Yamamoto, but the offense had to come through with three runs in the ninth inning to get him off the hook for his third straight loss. The right-hander owns an unsightly 9.64 ERA in his last three outings, and overall he is 4-2 with a 3.94 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, .169 batting average against and 49 strikeouts in 48 innings this season. Yamamoto will pitch next at the Mets on Tuesday.

Hader (1-5) took the loss and was hit with the blown save against the Athletics on Thursday, recording one out while giving up two earned runs on one hit in the Brewers' 5-3 defeat. He walked one and didn't record a strikeout.

Tasked with protecting a one-run lead, Hader served up a go-ahead two-run blast to Matt Chapman, saddling him with his fifth loss of the season along with his third blown save. It was Hader's second loss in his last three appearances, so he's hit a bit of a rough patch, but he still has great numbers overall with a 2.58 ERA, a 0.76 WHIP and a 96:14 K:BB over 52.1 innings.

Ferguson was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Ferguson will swap places on the roster with Adam Kolarek, who was acquired from the Rays via trade Wednesday. In 27 appearances with the Dodgers this season, the left-handed Ferguson owns a 5.88 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 32:17 K:BB in 26 innings.
