The Dodgers placed Klein on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right elbow discomfort, Maddie Lee of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Klein has given up 10 runs (eight earned) over his last five outings spanning six innings. His recent struggles may be partly due to his right elbow injury, and while a minimum stint on the IL would mark a mid-August return, the Dodgers will have a better grasp of Klein's recovery timeline once he's cleared to resume baseball activities. In corresponding moves, Kyle Hurt and Wyatt Mills were both recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City while southpaw Cole Irvin was designated for assignment.

Atlanta scratched Lopez from his scheduled start Saturday against the Nationals due to left knee inflammation.

The severity of Lopez's injury is unclear, but it's enough of an issue to prevent him from taking the mound Saturday. Martin Perez was originally due to start Sunday's series finale but will instead move up a day and start in Lopez's place.

The Brewers recalled Stallings from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Stallings will fill the open spot in Milwaukee's bullpen that was created when the team traded Craig Yoho to Cleveland before Saturday's game. Stallings has fired five shutout innings across his first three appearances in the majors, but he isn't expected to receive many high-leverage opportunities with the Brewers.

Holmes (fibula) is tentatively scheduled to make a rehab start for High-A Brooklyn on Sunday, Chelsea Janes of SNY.tv reports.

Though Holmes is lined up to pitch Sunday, he may not be a member of the Mets organization by then, as the right-hander has said that he expects to be traded ahead of Monday's deadline. Holmes has been on the shelf since May 16 due to a right fibula fracture, but he built up to four innings in his latest rehab start Tuesday at Single-A St. Lucie and should be ready to return from the injured list following the deadline.

Stewart underwent an MRI on Saturday and was diagnosed with right shoulder tendinitis, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The Dodgers will shut Stewart down from throwing for three days before reevaluating him, at which point he may be cleared to start up a throwing program. The 34-year-old righty noted that he's been having problems with his shoulder for about a week, and although it didn't have much of an impact on his throwing, he and the team didn't want to risk it developing into something more severe once the postseason arrives.

The Pirates designated Stratton for assignment Saturday, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Stratton will give up his place on Pittsburgh's 40-man roster to make room for Camilo Doval, who was acquired in a trade with the Yankees on Saturday. Stratton has given up two runs in 3.1 big-league innings this season but hasn't yet allowed a run through eight frames at Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Pirates recalled Mattson from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Mattson has given up four runs across his last two big-league appearances, but the Pirates will bring him back into their bullpen as the replacement for Antwone Kelly. Sporting a 4.93 ERA and 1.56 WHIP through 34.2 innings in the majors, Mattson will likely be limited to low-leverage work.

The Pirates optioned Kelly to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Kelly pitched three shutout innings during Friday's loss to the Reds, but he'll now be pushed off the big-league roster by Isaac Mattson in an effort to keep Pittsburgh's bullpen well-rested. Now with a 6.14 MLB ERA through 7.1 frames, Kelly could still return to the majors later in the year to supply the Pirates with length out of the pen.

The Yankees traded Doval to the Pirates on Saturday in exchange for minor-leaguers Omar Alfonzo and Luis Cruz, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Doval owns a 4.54 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 39.2 innings this season and had been losing out on high-leverage work with the Yankees, recording just one hold and no saves in his last 23 appearances. He might not immediately be in the mix for saves upon joining the Pirates, but the 29-year-old's experience as a closer could allow him to climb up the leverage ladder quickly if his performance improves.

Matsui (2-1) earned the win over San Francisco on Friday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over three scoreless innings.

San Diego deployed a bit of an unusual pitching progression, opening with reliever Bradgley Rodriguez for one inning before going to Matsui for three frames and finishing with veteran starter German Marquez for the final five . All three hurlers pitched well, and Matsui got the victory with three scoreless frames that included just one hit. The left-hander completed three innings for the first time as a major-leaguer, throwing 49 pitches (32 strikes). Matsui isn't seeing a ton of high-leverage work, but he's having his best big-league season to date, posting a 2.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 45:24 K:BB while collecting six holds through 31 appearances spanning 41.2 innings.
