The Mets acquired McDermott from the Dodgers on Monday in exchange for Ben Rortvedt, Aram Leighton of JustBaseball.com reports.
McDermott had been booted off the Dodgers' 40-man roter last week. The 27-year-old has spent nearly all of the 2026 season at the Triple-A level, logging a 4.55 ERA and 52:26 K:BB over 31.2 frames. McDermott has permitted 20 runs over 15 innings during his brief time at the major-league level.
