The Astros activated outfielder J.D. Martinez from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Angels.
Martinez was not in the lineup Friday. He batted .256 with seven home runs and 36 runs driven in 273 at-bats before suffering a sprained wrist on July 26. -

Harper missed some time with a hip injury, but was able to return Wednesday. The fact that he's able to play consecutive games is a good sign moving forward. Harper is hitting .273 in 363 at-bats.

Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes doubled twice Wednesday night during a big win at Minnesota. With the A's scoring 18 runs and notching 22 hits, Cespedes went 2 for 3 with three RBI.
Cespedes drove in Brandon Moss for the first run of the game in the second inning. He added two more RBI in the fourth with his double to deep right field.
The Cuban defector has hit in six straight games and has gone 10 for 23 with a homer and seven RBI. He's driven in at least one run in five straight games. Cespedes has hit in nine of his last 10 contests. -

Giancarlo Stanton launches 20th home run
Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton was the offensive star of Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Braves, going 2 for 3 with one walk, three RBI and his 20th home run of the season.
The home run was his seventh in his last 22 games dating back to Aug. 17. In a season where an injury cost Stanton over a month of time, he has hit .253/.370/.485 with 20 homers and 50 RBI in 359 at-bats.

Bryce Harper goes 1 for 4 in return
Making his return to the lineup for the first time since Friday due to hip inflammation, Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper went 1 for 4 in his team's 3-0 win over the Mets Wednesday.
Harper has hit just six of his 19 homers in the second half but put together an 11-game hit streak near the end of August and had walked at least once in each of his four September games before Wednesday. He has hit .273/.376/.501 in 363 at-bats.

Harper has been out since Sept. 6 with hip inflammation. Harper has played in just 101 games this year but still has 19 homers and eight steals to go with a .273/.377/.504 batting line.
