  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Sits second straight

D'Arnaud isn't in the lineup Tuesday against Washington.

D'Arnaud will receive a second day of rest after going 5-for-18 in Atlanta's previous series against the Phillies. William Contreras will take over for him behind the plate, letting Marcell Ozuna serve as designated hitter and bat eighth.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Activated from injured list

Contreras (ankle) was activated from the injured list Tuesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Contreras just resumed full baseball activities Friday, and the Cubs did not have a target date for his return at that point. However, they did not need to see much before adding him back to the active roster. It's unclear if Contreras will handle an everyday role right away, but fantasy players can plan on having him available for the homestretch.

  • Riley Adams C | WAS

Nationals' Riley Adams: Resting again Tuesday

Adams is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

Adams went 2-for-24 (.083) over his last seven games, so he will be held out in favor of Tres Barrera for the second time in three days.

  • Donny Sands C | DET

Phillies' Donny Sands: Sent to Triple-A

Sands was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

The Phillies had been carrying three catchers in the short term, but Sands heads back down after the activation of Nick Castellanos (oblique). Sands was 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in three games.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Gets break Monday

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

D'Arnaud looks to be receiving some routine maintenance for the series opener in Washington after he caught all 11 innings of Sunday's 8-7 win over the Phillies. William Contreras will spell d'Arnaud behind the dish Monday.

  • Zack Collins C | CLE

Pirates' Zack Collins: Getting steady playing time

Collins will start at first base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Reds.

Since his Sept. 13 call-up from Triple-A Indianapolis, Collins has settled into a strong-side platoon role at first base for the Pirates. The results haven't been particularly encouraging, however; Collins is off to a 1-for-19 start to his time in Pittsburgh.

  • Jason Delay C | BOS

    Pirates' Jason Delay: Idle Monday

Delay is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

Delay will get a breather for the series opener after he went hitless in six at-bats while he was behind the plate for both of the Bucs' final two games with the Cubs over the weekend. Jose Godoy will replace Delay as the Pirates' starting catcher Monday.

  • Jose Godoy C | TEX

Pirates' Jose Godoy: Called up, will start Monday

The Pirates selected Godoy's contract from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.

Godoy will likely step in as the Pirates' No. 2 catcher behind Jason Delay while Tyler Heineman (concussion) resides on the 7-day injured list. The 27-year-old is hitless in 10 big-league at-bats this season but has impressed with a .947 OPS in Indianapolis, albeit in just 42 plate appearances. Godoy will start at catcher and bat ninth in Monday's series opener with the Reds while Delay rests.

  • Elias Diaz C | KC

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Three hits, scores twice

Diaz went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI on Sunday against the Padres.

Diaz tallied his 15th double before coming around to score in the first inning, and he also chipped in an RBI single in the eighth frame. It was his first multi-hit performance since Sept. 9, a span of seven starts during which he hit only .138. Diaz is now hitting .234/.289/.383 line across 357 plate appearances on the season.

  • Joey Bart C | PIT

Giants' Joey Bart: Receives Sunday off

Bart is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Arizona.

Bart is 1-for-19 with 11 strikeouts over his past eight contests and will take a seat for Sunday's series finale. Austin Wynns will start behind the plate and bat eighth.
