    Machado went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI singles, a run scored and a walk in Friday's 4-3 win over the Astros.

    Machado tied the game in the first inning when he scored Eric Hosmer with a single. He then scored Trent Grisham with a single in the fifth before coming home on a Jake Cronenworth double. Machado has four straight multi-hit efforts, going 8-for-15 with a homer, six RBI and five runs scored in that span. He's slashing .248/.358/.486 with six homers, 19 RBI, 19 runs scored and two stolen bases in 28 games this season.

  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Supplies lone run

    Escobar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-1 loss to Oakland.

    Escobar supplied all the offense the Diamondbacks could muster against left-hander Sean Manaea, and Arizona is now 0-6 against southpaws. This was the second multi-hit game in the last five for Escobar, who is 6-for-18 with two home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs scored during that stretch. It's a positive sign for the hitter, whose average stood at .167 over the first third of the season.

    Newman went 2-for-3 with a walk in Thursday's 2-0 loss to Cleveland.

    Getting the start at second base and hitting second, Newman was a regular presence on the basepaths, but none of his teammates could bring him home. The 27-year-old has upped his batting average on the year to .292 with a nine-game hitting streak that's seen him go 15-for-36 (.417).

    Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Slugs two homers

    McMahon went 2-for-3 with two walks, two home runs, four RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Astros.

    McMahon's big day at the plate began in the second inning, when he took Cristian Javier deep for a two-run shot. He doubled down on the production with another two-run homer in the fifth frame. McMahon now has five home runs on the season, all of which have come at Coors Field. Across 94 plate appearances, McMahon has managed a .225/.330/.475 line to this point in the campaign.

    Arenado went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored Thursday against the Astros.

    Arenado came through with a solo home run in third inning, taking Cristian Javier deep for his seventh home run of the season. He also led off the fifth frame with a double, and came around to score on a home run by Ryan McMahon. Through 104 plate appearances, Arenado is hitting .234/.279/.489 with 12 runs scored and 15 RBI.

    Phillies' Jean Segura: On bench for Game 2

    Segura is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

    Segura returned from a two-game absence for the first half of Thursday's doubleheader, going 1-for-3 in the loss. He'll sit in favor of Neil Walker in Game 2 as the Phillies ease him back into action.

    Phillies' Jean Segura: Back in action Thursday

    Segura (hamstring) is starting at second base and hitting fifth in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

    He tweaked his hamstring Sunday but will fortunately avoid a trip to the injured list. Segura was in the midst of a modest seven-game hitting streak prior to the injury, hitting .280/.400/.720 with three home runs and zero steals over that span.

    Dodgers' Max Muncy: Cranks sixth homer

    Muncy went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Wednesday's loss to the Mariners.

    Muncy got the Dodgers on the board by swatting his sixth home run of the season, this time against Taijuan Walker leading off the second inning. The 29-year-old has been struggling this year, hitting just .176/.303/.396 with 12 RBI and 13 runs scored.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Delivers walk-off grand slam

    Machado went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and a double during Wednesday's win against the Rangers.

    With one out and the Padres trailing in the 10th inning, Machado came through for his team by smacking a 436-foot walk-off grand slam against Rafael Montero. He also doubled in the third. It was the second grand slam of the season and the sixth career walk-off for Machado, who now has six long balls on the year while averaging .222/.325/.455.

    Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Productive in second game

    Suarez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a stolen base and a walk in a 5-0 win over the Royals in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

    Suarez went back-to-back with Jesse Winker as part of a three-run third inning for the Reds. The multi-hit effort was Suarez's first of the season. He also added his first stolen base of the year after drawing a walk in the fifth inning. The third baseman is hitting just .141 with three homers, seven RBI and eight runs scored in 21 games this year.
