Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Nationals' Nick Senzel: Scratched from lineup
Senzel (illness) was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Senzel had been set to return from an illness, but the Nationals felt it was best to give him at least one more day to recover. Ildemaro Vargas will sub in for Senzel at third base Wednesday.

Nationals' Nick Senzel: Returns to lineup Wednesday
Senzel (illness) is back in the lineup for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
An illness kept Senzel off the field earlier in the week, but he's now ready to resume his preparations for the start of the 2024 season. Senzel has logged just one official at-bat so far this spring. The 28-year-old is expected to serve as Washington's everyday third baseman, health permitting.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Making Grapefruit debut Wednesday
Bohm (neck) will make his Grapefruit League debut for the Phillies on Wednesday against Atlanta, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Bohm's spring debut has been delayed about a week due to neck spasms, but he's good to go now. The 27-year-old third baseman slashed .274/.327/.437 with 20 home runs in 145 games last season and will look to take another step forward in 2024.

Buddy Kennedy 3B | SF
Cardinals' Buddy Kennedy: Designated for assignment
Kennedy was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Brandon Crawford. Kennedy was a waiver claim from the Athletics earlier this offseason and will now go through the waiver process again.

Nick Senzel 3B | LAD
Nationals' Nick Senzel: Feeling ill Monday
Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Senzel won't be available for Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets due to an illness, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Senzel had apparently been in line to start Monday, but since the illness kept him from getting to the ballpark, the Nationals will turn to prospect Brady House to fill in at third base. Assuming he's able to quickly move past the illness, Senzel should have plenty of time in spring training to get in competitive at-bats as he prepares himself for an everyday role at third base to begin his first season with the Nationals.

Michael Busch 3B | CHC
Cubs' Michael Busch: May see less playing time
Busch could see his role reduced somewhat now that Cody Bellinger has agreed to return to the Cubs, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Bellinger agreed to a three-year, $80 million deal Sunday and will likely split his time between center field and first base just like he did last year. Busch is likely the top option at first whenever Bellinger is in center, but the former's role could still be reduced due to the new addition to the roster. Fantasy players will want to keep an eye on the situation, but for now, Busch may be an up-and-down option, at least in the early going as things shake out.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Should be game-ready Wednesday
Bohm (neck) is expected to make his spring debut Wednesday against the Yankees, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Neck spasms have sidelined the 27-year-old for the first weekend of Grapefruit League action, but his absence shouldn't extend much beyond that. Bohm produced a .274/.327/.437 slash line with 20 home runs in 145 games last season and is poised for another campaign as Philadelphia's third baseman.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: In better shape entering camp
Muncy worked on improving his physical conditioning in the offseason, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Vassegh notes that both Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and general manager Brandon Gomes have credited Muncy for improving his conditioning over the winter. The offseason conditioning may have been toward the purpose of staying healthier, as Muncy has landed on the injured list at some point each of the past three seasons, with a troublesome hamstring being the culprit last year. Los Angeles signed Muncy to a two-year extension in November, and he's set to be the team's everyday third baseman in 2024.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Set for spring debut
Machado (elbow) is starting as San Diego's designated hitter for Saturday's Cactus League matchup against the Brewers.
Machado sat out the Padres' first few spring training games as he continued to work his way back from offseason elbow surgery, but it now seems he's ready to at least serve in a DH role. It remains unclear whether or not Machado will be able to cover third base by the time the Padres open the season against the Dodgers on March 20.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Managing neck spasms
Bohm won't play in any Grapefruit League games this weekend due to neck spasms, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
The severity of the injury hasn't been disclosed, but for now Bohm will be held out of spring games. The 27-year-old still has plenty of time to get healthy before Opening Day as he looks to build on his strong 2023 performance.
