  • Mets' Jacob Reimer: Focused on sticking at hot corner

Reimer worked hard on improving his defense at third base in the offseason, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

The 21-year-old is coming off a breakout campaign with his bat, as he slashed .282/.381/.490 over 123 games between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton with 17 homers and 15 steals, but scouts have long believed Reimer will need to move across the diamond to first base at some point. He's not shifting down the defensive spectrum without a fight, however. "I understand it, obviously," Reimer said of that speculation. "It's fair. But I want to show that I can definitely go out there and be an elite-level defensive player." He'll get his first look at Triple-A at some point this season, but even if he performs well, it could take some injuries ahead of him on the depth chart to get Reimer a 2026 big-league debut.

  • Mets' Jacob Reimer: Moving up to Double-A

The Mets will promote Reimer from High-A Brooklyn to Double-A Binghamton this week, Ezra Lombardi of SI.com reports.

New York is sending two of its top position prospects to the Eastern League, as outfielder Carson Benge will also be bumped up from High-A. A 21-year-old corner infielder, Reimer has enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2025, slashing .284/.388/.500 with eight home runs and 11 steals in 62 games with Brooklyn.

  • Mets' Jacob Reimer: Cleared to rejoin High-A club

High-A Brooklyn reinstated Reimer (hamstring) from its 60-day injured list Monday.

Reimer is finally ready to make his 2024 debut for Brooklyn after the Mets' High-A affiliate placed him on the shelf coming out of spring training due to a strained hamstring. The 20-year-old slashed .250/.400/.313 with two extra-base hits (both doubles) over an 11-game rehab assignment between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A St. Lucie.

  • Mets' Jacob Reimer: Out with pulled hammy

Reimer is on the 60-day injured list with High-A Brooklyn due to a pulled hamstring, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports.

Reimer logged high on-base percentages as a 19-year-old at Single-A and High-A last season, but he only hit seven home runs with three steals in 100 games. He is expected back in early June, per Dykstra.
