Reds' Santiago Espinal: Getting call at third base
Espinal will start at third base and bat eighth in Wednesday's contest against the Astros.
Espinal has started two straight and five of the last eight games at third base, as it's looking like he has leapfrogged Noelvi Marte on the depth chart at the position. The 29-year-old Espinal is slashing .398/.436/.580 since the All-Star break and should continue to receive regular reps while he's swinging a hot bat.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Remains on bench
Bohm (hand) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
While the Phillies are still expecting Bohm to avoid a stint on the injured list, he'll end up missing out on a fifth straight start while he continues to deal with swelling on his left hand. Kody Clemens will fill in at third base for Bohm, who can be considered day-to-day heading into Thursday's series opener in Miami.

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Not expected to face Toronto
Manager Rob Thomson said Tuesday that Bohm (hand) likely won't play during the Phillies' current series against the Blue Jays, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
The Phillies' skipper added that he doesn't expect Bohm to require a trip to the injured list, and he should be able to return to the lineup sometime during the team's upcoming series in Miami. The 28-year-old hasn't played since leaving Thursday's game against Atlanta due to inflammation in his left hand.

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Held out again Tuesday
Bohm (hand) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Toronto, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Bohm missed the final three games of the weekend series versus Atlanta and still isn't ready to play in the series opener in Toronto even after a team off day Monday. Edmundo Sosa will receive another start at third base for the Phillies.

Reds' Santiago Espinal: Two RBI, stolen base in win
Espinal went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 5-3 win against the Astros.
Espinal put his team ahead with a two-run single in the fifth inning that ended up being the deciding runs Monday. Espinal has been on a tear recently, and he's been getting plenty of playing time as a result. The 29-year-old sat the previous two games due to a shin injury but made 13 straight starts prior to that, and he's hitting .385 with 10 RBI over that 16-game span (inlcuding Monday). For the season, Espinal carries a .270/.314/.404 slash line with nine homers, 42 RBI and nine stolen bases.
