Machado went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 5-1 win over the Giants.

Machado had gone five games without a homer before lifting a first-inning solo shot. He added an RBI single in the fifth and then went yard again with another solo homer in the eighth, giving him 25 long balls on the year. It's a mark he's reached in all nine of his full-length seasons over the last 10 years, and he's within striking distance of reaching 30 homers for the eighth time in that span. The third baseman has added a .274/.326/.468 slash line with 89 RBI, 69 runs scored and nine steals over 134 contests.

Arenado exited Friday's game against Seattle due to shoulder soreness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Arenado exited in favor of a pinch hitter in the ninth inning after he had difficulty swinging a bat. It's unclear if the injury will cause him to miss additional time, but Jose Fermin would likely pick up playing time at the hot corner in that scenario.

Vientos went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-4 win against Cincinnati.

The Mets' third baseman opened the game's scoring when he laced a 368-foot, two-run homer off opener Fernando Cruz in the first inning. Vientos then capped the game's scoring when he cracked a walk-off, 401-foot, two-run blast in the 10th. The 24-year-old has been a significant source of power this season, as he's now slashing .289/.342/.563 with 24 homers, 62 RBI and 50 runs scored across 368 plate appearances in 91 games. Vientos now has multiple hits in four of his past five games.

Muncy is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Guardians.

The lefty-hitting Muncy will begin Friday's game in the dugout as Cleveland sends southpaw Matthew Boyd to the mound. Since his return from the 60-day injured list in mid-August, Muncy has slashed .237/.383/.500 with two home runs and seven RBI across 47 plate appearances. Enrique Hernandez will start at third base and bat ninth.

The Phillies placed Bohm (hand) on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Sept. 3, due to a left hand strain.

The 28-year-old hasn't seen the field since Aug. 29 due to the injury, and the Phillies finally opted to move him to the injured list after six straight absences. Bohm will be eligible to be reinstated Sept. 13, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point. Buddy Kennedy was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move, but it'll likely be a combination of Edmundo Sosa and Kody Clemens that fills in at third base for Philadelphia.

Bohm (hand) isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Thursday's game against Miami.

Bohm will be missing his sixth consecutive game as a result of inflammation in his left hand. The team still doesn't believe he'll need to spend time on the injured list, though that may change if the 28-year-old doesn't return before the end of the series. Kody Clemens will start at the hot corner Thursday and bat eighth.

Candelario (toe) has yet to resume baseball activities, MLB.com reports.

Candelario is almost three weeks removed from suffering a fractured left great toe and remains limited to rehabilitation work due to lingering discomfort. It shouldn't take long for him to become game-ready once the soreness subsides, but it's not clear when/if that might happen before the end of the season.

Suarez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over San Francisco.

Suarez homered in the second inning then doubled and scored during Arizona's two-run eighth that gave the team needed cushion against the Giants, who rallied late with four runs over the final three frames. The home run was Suarez's 24th and sixth in the last 12 games, during which the third baseman has a line of .378/.412/.844. He's had such an impactful bat since the All-Star break (.965 OPS), it's hard to recall when Suarez was in danger of losing playing time during a first-half slump.

Chapman and the Giants agreed to terms on a six-year contract extension Wednesday.

Per Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, Chapman will earn $25 million per year from 2025 to 2030 along with a one-time $1 million signing bonus. His previous contract, a one-year deal for 2024, included options in each of the next three years, but those will no longer be necessary. Chapman's been a boost for the Giants in his first year with the team, producing a .247/.333/.445 slash line, 22 home runs, 69 RBI, 90 runs scored, 33 doubles, one triple and 13 stolen bases over 136 contests this season. He was scratched from the lineup ahead of Wednesday's game, but he is not dealing with an injury and should be back in the starting nine for Thursday's series finale versus the Diamondbacks.

Chapman was scratched from the Giants' lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against Arizona, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Chapman isn't dealing with any injuries, per Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle. The Giants simply made a late decision to give the 31-year-old the day off. Brett Wisely will move over to third base while Chapman rests, and Tyler Fitzgerald will enter to play shortstop.
