Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Two hits in loss

Marte (quad) went 2-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers.

Marte was able to avoid missing a game after exiting Sunday's game versus the Twins with quad tightness. He was back atop the order Tuesday after Monday's team off day, and he played all nine innings at second base. The 29-year-old is slashing .284/.359/.495 with 18 home runs, 58 RBI, 73 runs scored and six stolen bases through 107 contests, though he's gone just 3-for-25 (.120) over seven games in August.

Drury went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 7-5 victory over the Giants.

After starting 3-for-16 (.187) without scoring in his first four games since being activated off the 10-day IL, Drury collected a trio of hits and crossed the plate three times Tuesday. • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Out with hamstring discomfort

Rodgers is out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Brewers due to right hamstring discomfort, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Rodgers tweaked his hamstring on a play in the field Monday in Milwaukee and could be held out of action until Thursday's series opener at Dodger Stadium. The good news is that the oft-injured 26-year-old infielder should not require yet another IL stint.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Returns to lineup

Marte (quad) is starting at second base Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Left quadricep tightness forced Marte to make an early exit from Sunday's game against the Twins, but his injury will not end up costing him a start. However, Marte has been in a slump recently, going 0-for-16 at the plate across his last five games.

  • Blue Jays' Davis Schneider: Not in lineup Tuesday

Schneider is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Guardians.

Schneider has gone 9-for-17 (.529) with two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored through his first four major-league games, but he'll take a seat Tuesday for the first time since his Aug. 4 promotion from Triple-A Buffalo. Cavan Biggio is playing second base and Whit Merrifield will cover left field.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Mariners' Josh Rojas: On bench Tuesday

Rojas is absent from the lineup Tuesday against the Padres.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Red Sox's Luis Urias: Takes seat Tuesday

Urias is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Royals.

Urias had made four straight starts at second base since officially joining the Red Sox on Friday, but Pablo Reyes will take a turn there Tuesday versus the Royals and right-hander Brady Singer. Urias is 4-for-14 (.286) so far with Boston.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Sits with jammed thumb

Frazier is out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Astros due to a jammed thumb, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Frazier jammed the thumb last week in Toronto and has been trying to play through it. He's getting treatment Tuesday and is expected to be ready to return to action Wednesday.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Hitting well since return to LA

Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk Monday in a 13-7 victory over San Diego.

Hernandez went deep in the sixth inning, swatting a solo shot to left-center field. It was his first long ball since rejoining the Dodgers as a result of a July 25 trade with the Red Sox. Hernandez has played regularly since returning to the National League and hit well, slashing .324/.350/.541 with five doubles, Monday's homer, seven RBI, five runs and a 2:3 BB:K over 40 plate appearances.
