  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Stays warm with homer

Estrada went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Rays.

Estrada's sixth-inning blast off Zack Littell opened the scoring. Since he returned from a hand injury Aug. 5, Estrada has gone 12-for-42 (.286) with four extra-base hits and six RBI across 10 contests. He's reclaimed a starting role at second base, though he hit ninth Tuesday, just the second time he's been at the bottom of the order. For the year, he's at a solid .274/.326/.434 slash line with 10 long balls, 37 RBI, 48 runs scored and 18 stolen bases through 80 games.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Dealing with bruised knee

Altuve left Tuesday's game against the Marlins due to a left knee contusion, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

After fouling the first pitch of Tuesday's game off his left leg, Altuve remained in the game to finish his at-bat, logged an infield single and was replaced at second base by Mauricio Dubon. X-rays on Altuve's knee came back negative, and the 33-year-old second baseman should be considered day-to-day going forward.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Exits game early

Altuve was removed from Tuesday's game against the Marlins with an apparent injury, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Altuve fouled a ball off his shin during the first inning but stayed in the game to finish his at-bat and legged out an infield single. Mauricio Dubon entered the game in the bottom of the first inning in Altuve's place at second base. The fact Altuve was able to complete his plate appearance is a good sign that his injury isn't serious, but the Astros should offer more details in the near future.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Takes seat Tuesday

Westburg isn't in the Orioles' lineup Tuesday against the Padres, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

After putting together a four-game hitting streak, Westburg will get a breather against Michael Wacha and the Padres on Tuesday. Ramon Urias will man third base while Westburg rests.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Dealing with hamstring injury

Julien is not in Tuesday's lineup due to a hamstring issue, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Julien is mired in a 1-for-16 slump, so manager Rocco Baldelli may just be looking to provide an extra day of rest as well. Jorge Polanco will shift to the keystone while Royce Lewis starts at third base.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: On bench Tuesday

Julien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

The rookie infielder often finds himself on the bench against left-handed pitchers, but he'll sit Tuesday despite the fact righty Alex Faedo is taking the mound for Detroit. Julien is mired in a 1-for-16 slump, so manager Rocco Baldelli may just be looking to provide an extra day of rest. Jorge Polanco will shift to the keystone while Royce Lewis starts at third base.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Red Sox's Luis Urias: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Urias is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Washington, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Urias has a .526 OPS in eight games since being called up by Boston on Aug. 4 and will take a seat Tuesday after starting four of the previous five contests. Pablo Reyes will man the keystone and bat eighth.

  • Forrest Wall LF | SD

Braves' Forrest Wall: Sent back to Triple-A

Atlanta optioned Wall to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Wall drew only four plate appearances during his nearly four-week stay in the majors. The 27-year-old former top prospect has slashed .258/.360/.399 with six homers and 45 steals in 78 games (356 plate appearances) this season at Triple-A.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Remains sidelined Tuesday

Gorman (back) is absent from the lineup Tuesday against the Athletics.

Gorman was scratched from Monday's series opener due to nagging lower-back tightness and needs at least one more day of rest. Taylor Motter is starting at second base and batting eighth for St. Louis.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC

Braves' Nicky Lopez: Another start at second base

Lopez will start at second base and bat ninth Tuesday against the Yankees.

Atlanta will ride the hot hand with Lopez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's win over New York. Vaughn Grissom should also get some starts at second while Ozzie Albies (hamstring) is on the shelf, though Lopez may be the preferred option versus right-handed pitching.
