Torres (core pain) is not in Friday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

He will sit for a third straight game after exiting Tuesday's contest with core pain. Breyvic Valera will start at second base and hit ninth.

Lux went 2-for-5 for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday and has now collected eight hits in his last 14 at-bats.

The hit parade continues for Lux, who has shown no signs of slowing down in August after earning the PCL Player of the Month award by hitting .435 in July. The Dodgers' top-ranked prospect is now slashing an absurd .362/.431/.633 with 23 homers and 68 RBI in 450 plate appearances between Double-A and Triple-A this season. The Dodgers have resisted the temptation to call him up to the big club thus far, but he's likely to get his first taste of the majors in September, if not sooner.

Chavis is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Chavis will sit for the second time in the last three contests as he is 5-for-23 over his last eight games. Brock Holt will start at the keystone and bat eighth Friday.

Castro went 1-for-4 with a walk, a three-run home run and two runs scored in Thursday's 10-8 win over the Royals.

Castro has been a pleasant surprise for the Tigers, as he's now batting .281 through 56 games. He doesn't offer a ton of pop, with just a .688 OPS and three home runs, but the 25-year-old has earned himself regular playing time and could be worth a look in deep formats or daily contests.

He exited Tuesday's contest with "core pain" and was held out Wednesday. While his absence Thursday is not surprising, he did say he'd be ready to play if necessary, so perhaps he will be available off the bench. Breyvic Valera is starting at second base and hitting ninth.

Diaz is not in the lineup Thursday against the Braves, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Diaz is just 1-for-15 with a home run and seven strikeouts through his first four big-league games, so he'll head to the bench to clear his head as Starlin Castro slides over to cover the keystone in Thursday's series opener.

Marte went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run, an RBI and his seventh stolen base of the season in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Phillies.

Despite churning out three 20-steal seasons in the minors and annually ranking favorably on the Statcast leaderboard in terms of sprint speed, Marte hasn't been the major running threat some may have envisioned him becoming at the big-league level. Still, a 7-for-8 success rate on the bases is nothing to scoff at a time when steals are at a premium, and that's merely been a bonus to the wealth of production Marte has provided in just about every other category during a breakout season.

Semien, who went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Cubs on Wednesday, is 9-for-23 with three two-baggers, two home runs, three RBI, five walks and six runs through his first six games of August.

Both Semien's current batting average (.278) and on-base percentage (.364) are now at their highest points since June 20, while the last time he had a higher slugging percentage than his current .481 figure was way back on April 29. Semien was one of the few offensive bright spots in Wednesday's blowout loss, and his double puts him just one extra-base hit short of equaling the career-high 56 he garnered in 2016 over 88 additional plate appearances.

Torres (abdomen) indicated he might need one more day to recover from the core injury but said "I'll be ready to play" Thursday if necessary, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Torres has had the core issue crop up twice over the last few days, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the Yankees remain cautious with his return to the lineup after he exited Tuesday's contest. In any case, the 22-year-old isn't expected to require a trip to the injured list and could return to action shortly, even if he's held out Thursday in Toronto.

Albies went 4-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs and three runs overall in an 11-7 victory against the Twins on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old loved hitting at Target Field this week. In the final two contests of the three-game set, Albies went 8-for-11 with two homers, a triple and four RBI. The tremendous two-day hot streak raised his average 11 points, and he has a chance to set career bests in home runs and RBI. Albies is batting .296 with 17 home runs, 63 RBI, 75 runs and 11 steals in 460 at-bats this season.
