  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Raps two hits in loss

Ibanez started at designated hitter and went 2-for-4 in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Yankees.

Ibanez was activated off the injured list last Friday and, after not playing that night, has been in the starting lineup three straight games. He's served as DH twice and played second base in the other. Ibanez has been one of the team's better bats since the All-Star break, slashing .307/.358/.489 over 148 plate appearances.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Blue Jays' Marcus Semien: Homers in loss

Semien went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Rays.

Semien made the game interesting late after slugging a two-run shot off David Robertson in the ninth to make it a 6-4 ballgame. The 30-year-old has at least a hit in 17 of 19 games and is fourth in baseball with 41 homers. Currently playing on a one-year prove-it contract, all Semien has done this year is prove his worth, as he's slashing .270/.340/.544 with 81 extra-base hits, 97 RBI, 108 runs scored, 15 steals and 63:136 BB:K over 670 plate appearances.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Reaches base three times

Torres went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Monday's 4-3 win over Texas.

Torres knocked an RBI single as part of the Yankees' three-run third inning. He has hits in 10 of his last 11 games, going 13-for-41 (.317) during that span. The 224-year-old infielder is slashing .256/.328/.352 with 46 RBI and 26 extra-base hits through 471 plate appearances this season.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Out of Monday's lineup

Kemp is not in the lineup Monday against the Mariners, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Kemp is 3-for-16 with seven walks in his past six games and will take a seat for the second time in the past three days. Josh Harrison will work at the keystone while Chad Pinder starts in the outfield Monday.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

    Astros' Jose Altuve: Resting Monday

Altuve is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Altuve sits after starting 14 straight games. He recorded at least one hit in all but one of those games, posting a .357/.446/.643 slash line while homering three times. Marwin Gonzalez will fill in as the second baseman.

  • Rangers' Yonny Hernandez: Not starting Monday

Hernandez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

While his nine steals in 33 games have certainly helped fantasy teams, he only plays against right-handed pitchers, and the Rangers face a handful of southpaws this week, beginning with Nestor Cortes in this one. Charlie Culberson will be the third baseman Monday.

  • Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS

White Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Returns to bench role

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

Gonzalez will take a seat after he went 5-for-16 with two doubles, a walk, three runs and an RBI while starting in each of the White Sox's last four games. The 25-year-old doesn't have a clear path to an everyday role at the moment, but his ability to play multiple infield and outfield spots should allow him to see at least semi-regular work while he wields a hot bat.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Receives Monday off

Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

The lefty-hitting Lowe will take a seat as Toronto brings one of MLB's top southpaws (Robbie Ray) to the hill for the series opener. Joey Wendle will slide over from third base to replace Lowe at the keystone.

  • Owen Miller 2B | CHC

Indians' Owen Miller: Gets third start in four games

Miller will start at second base and bat sixth in the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Royals.

Miller will pick up his third start in four games after he went 2-for-7 with a walk, a run and an RBI in Cleveland's series victory over the Yankees this past weekend. Both Miller and Yu Chang -- who will sit out the front end of the twin bill -- should benefit from increased opportunities in the infield while Amed Rosario (personal) is on the bereavement list.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Steals base in loss

Lowe went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Tigers.

Lowe's only time reaching base was on a fielder's choice in the third after the Rays mustered up just five hits on the day. He would end up stealing second for his seventh stolen base of the year. The 26-year-old is now slashing .235/.333/.494 with 34 home runs, 85 RBI, 88 runs scored and 65:159 BB:K over 571 plate appearances.
