  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Knocks in four

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, a walk, four RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Giants. Lowe contributed to a six-run rally for the Pirates in the seventh inning with a two-RBI triple, and he followed that up with a run-scoring double two frames later. He has multiple hits in each of his last three starts and has six RBI, five runs scored and one home run in that span. Lowe remains a key bat in the Pirates' lineup, hitting .269 with 27 RBI and 24 runs scored across 34 games to begin the season.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers again Thursday

Lowe went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored against the Diamondbacks in a 4-2 victory Thursday. Lowe didn't take long to make an impact, drilling a 436-foot homer to right field in the first inning. He went on to add a pair of singles, notching his second straight multi-hit game and extending his on-base streak to 11 contests. Lowe has homered in each of his past two games and now has 10 long balls on the campaign. His first season with the Pirates is off to a great start -- through 32 contests he has a .941 OPS, which is on pace to be a career-best mark.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Provides lone run in win

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks. Lowe's first-inning homer was all the scoring for either team in this contest, as it gave Paul Skenes all the help he needed. This was the second homer in Lowe's last five contests. The infielder has gone 5-for-17 (.294) in that span, lifting his average for the season to .252 through 31 games. He's added nine homers, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored, eight doubles and no stolen bases. Lowe has topped the 30-homer mark twice in his career, though staying healthy will be the biggest factor in him taking a run at that mark in 2026.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Scores three runs

Lowe went 1-for-1 with four walks, one RBI and three runs scored Saturday against the Reds. The Pirates walked 11 times as a team Saturday, with Lowe leading the way by drawing four free passes. He also delivered an RBI single in the first frame, and he was ultimately pulled in the seventh inning thanks to a nine-run lead. • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Slugs eighth homer

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Thursday against the Cardinals. Lowe briefly pulled the Pirates to within one run in the seventh inning with his eighth home run of the season. That marked his first long ball since April 14, a span of 11 starts. After a hot start to the campaign, Lowe is hitting only .235 with one home run, five RBI and five runs scored across his last 12 games.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Not in Sunday's lineup

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers Lowe went 2-for-9 with a double, a run and three strikeouts in the first two games of the series and will hit the bench for the finale. It's likely just a maintenance day for Lowe with a lefty starter (Kyle Harrison) taking the mound for Milwaukee.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Back in lineup Wednesday

Lowe (knee) is starting at second base and batting second in Wednesday's game against the Rangers. Lowe was held out of Tuesday's lineup while managing left knee discomfort, but the veteran has been given the green light to return for Wednesday's contest. He is slashing .267/.375/.600 with seven home runs, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored over 88 plate appearances this season.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Managing knee issue

Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers due to left knee discomfort, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Lowe presumably sustained the injury over the weekend against the Rays and is not starting for a second consecutive game. Manager Don Kelly downplayed the issue and indicated the second baseman could be available off the bench Tuesday.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Taking seat in series finale

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays. With the Rays sending a lefty (Shane McClanahan) to the bump and the teams playing a day game after Saturday's 13-inning affair, Lowe will exit the starting nine for just the third time this season. Nick Gonzales will replace Lowe at the keystone and will bat second.

  • Rays' Bryan Baker: Blows save against Pittsburgh

Baker was charged with a blown save Saturday against the Pirates, allowing one run on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts in one inning. With the heart of the order due up for the Pirates in the bottom of the eighth, manager Kevin Cash called on Baker to protect a 5-4 lead. He yielded a leadoff walk to Brandon Lowe and an infield singled to Ryan O'Hearn before Nick Yorke tied the game with a single. It was Baker's second blown save of the season, though he'd previously recorded four of the Rays' previous five saves. Baker now owns a 4.32 ERA and 9:3 K:BB across 8.1 innings and currently remains Tampa Bay's leading candidate for saves.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Doubles twice against Tampa Bay

Lowe went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI during the Pirates' 5-1 win over the Rays on Friday. Lowe gave the Pirates insurance runs in the eighth after his double to center field brought home both Billy Cook and Konnor Griffin. It was the seventh multi-hit game of the season for Lowe, four of which have come over his last six games. In that six-game span, he has gone 11-for-25 (.440) with four home runs and 14 RBI.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Continues power surge vs. Nats

Lowe went 3-for-5 with a home run, a walk, five RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 16-5 win over the Nationals. Lowe powered Pittsburgh's offense again Monday, driving in five runs and capping the club's 10-run sixth inning with his sixth homer of the season, a three-run shot off Brad Lord. It was the veteran second baseman's second hit of the frame and moved him into a tie for second in MLB in home runs. Lowe has been on an absolute tear with three homers and 10 RBI over his last two games, becoming the first player in Pirates history to record five RBI in back-to-back games. Through 65 plate appearances in 2026, the 31-year-old is slashing .278/.400/.678 with 14 RBI and a 186 wRC+, looking every bit like one of the league's most productive bats.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Two homers, five RBI in loss Sunday

Lowe went 2-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI, a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs. With the wind blowing out at Wrigley Field on Sunday, the Pirates and Cubs combined for five home runs. Lowe walked in the first inning before taking Jameson Taillon deep for a grand slam in the second. He later tagged Taillon again for a solo shot in the fifth. Lowe entered Sunday with just one extra-base hit and zero RBI in April, so this was a much-needed slump-busting performance for the second baseman. Lowe is slashing .245/.373/.592 with five home runs, nine RBI, seven runs scored and a 10:13 BB:K across 59 plate appearances.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Sitting against lefty

Nick Gonzales is getting the start at second base and batting fifth for Pittsburgh. Lowe is slashing .220/.333/.488 with three home runs, four RBI, four runs scored and a 7:10 BB:K across 48 trips to the plate but is batting just .130 with a .405 OPS over the last seven days.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Taking seat Wednesday

Lowe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati. Lowe had started each of the first five games of the season -- including two versus left-handers -- but the lefty bat will take a seat Wednesday as the Reds send southpaw Andrew Abbott to the bump. Nick Gonzales will cover second base for the Pirates.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers in win

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Sunday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Mets. Lowe reached base four times, highlighted by a solo shot that put the Pirates up 2-1 in the third inning. The 31-year-old has now homered three times in as many games to open the campaign, reaching base in seven of his 14 plate appearances. He should see near-everyday run in the heart of the order and has topped the 20-homer mark in each of the four seasons in which he's played over 100 games.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Shows out in Pirates debut

Lowe went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's 11-7 loss against the Mets. Lowe made an immediate impact in his Pirates debut, launching a pair of homers in his first two at-bats: a two-run bomb in the first inning and solo shot in the third. It marked the ninth multi-homer game of the 31-year-old's career. If he can stay healthy, Lowe's power should be a key asset for Pittsburgh after he hit .256 with 31 home runs and 83 RBI last year with the Rays.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Returning to lineup Saturday

Lowe (back) is starting at second base and batting second in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles. Lowe has been out of the lineup since being scratched from Wednesday's game due to lower-body tightness, but the veteran second baseman has been cleared to return for Saturday's contest. The 2026 season will be his first with the Pirates after he was traded by the Rays in December in a three-team deal that also included the Astros. Lowe slashed .256/.307/.477 with three steals (on five attempts), 31 home runs and 83 RBI across 553 plate appearances in 2025.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Out Wednesday with tight side

Lowe was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles due to lower-body tightness, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. According to the Pirates' medical staff, Lowe is scheduled to go through a normal practice session at camp Wednesday, so his removal from the lineup appears to be mostly precautionary in nature. Acquired from the Rays in a three-team deal in December, Lowe is projected to serve as the Pirates' primary second baseman this season, though he could occasionally sit against left-handed pitching.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Goes to Pirates in three-team deal

The Pirates acquired Lowe, Jake Mangum and Mason Montgomery from the Rays on Friday in a three-team trade that sent Mike Burrows to the Astros and Jacob Melton and Anderson Brito to Tampa Bay, Chandler Rome and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic report. The Rays picked up Lowe's $11.5 million option for 2026 last month but will now ship him to another team. Lowe slashed .256/.307/.477 with 31 home runs over 134 games with the Rays during the 2025 season. The 31-year-old will give the Pirates some much-needed thump to their lineup and also take over at a position of need in second base.
