  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Smacks game-winning homer

Lowe went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Tuesday against the A's. Lowe struck out in three of his first four plate appearances, though he managed to erase that ugly start to his day by blasting a go-ahead home run in the ninth inning. That marked his 18th long ball of the season and fourth in his last seven starts. While Lowe's power production remains very strong, he has struck out at a 32.3 percent clip while hitting only .161 across 14 games since the start of June.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Tallies 17th homer

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Mariners. Lowe popped a home run in the eighth inning, his 17th of the season and second in as many games. He's had an all-or-nothing approach at the plate across his first 10 games of June, hitting only .189 with a 26.2 percent strikeout rate. However, three of his seven hits in that span have cleared the fence.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers in loss

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers. Lowe has gone 6-for-33 (.182) over nine games in June, though all six knocks have gone for extra bases (two homers, four doubles). The second baseman helped the Pirates put a dent in a five-run deficit, though they ultimately never caught up. On the year, Lowe is batting .249 with an .858 OPS, 16 homers, 45 RBI, 42 runs scored, 16 doubles and a triple over 63 contests. He has yet to attempt a stolen base, but he's on pace to reach the 30-homer mark for the second year in a row and the third time in his career.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Kicks off rally

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI, a walk and a run scored Wednesday against the Dodgers. Lowe kicked off the Pirates' dramatic late-game rally in the seventh inning by delivering a two-run double, and he later came around to score. He has only one multi-hit game across his last 13 starts-- he's hit .166 in that span -- but he's still managed to tally 10 RBI and nine runs scored during that stretch.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Back in Tuesday's lineup

Lowe (knee) is back in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Dodgers. Lowe is back in the starting lineup for Pittsburgh after fouling a ball off his right knee during Saturday's game against Atlanta. The injury was deemed not serious, but Pittsburgh wanted to be cautious with its second baseman because it was the same knee that he fractured in September of 2023. Lowe will be back at second base and batting second.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Out of lineup after scare Saturday

Lowe (knee) isn't starting for the Pirates against Atlanta on Sunday. Lowe fouled a ball off his right knee in the ninth inning Saturday and had to exit the game. He expressed worry about the incident after the game because he fractured his kneecap on a similar at-bat in September of 2023, per Jason Mackey of MLB.com, but a CT scan Saturday revealed that Lowe avoided a serious injury. Still, Lowe is set to miss at least one contest, and he'll have Monday's team off day to get more rest. Nick Gonzales is starting at second base for the Pirates on Sunday, and Marcell Ozuna is the team's DH.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Scores twice in win

Lowe went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored Thursday against the Astros. Lowe ignited a Pirates rally with each of his doubles, coming around to score both times. It was his first multi-hit game in his last seven starts, though he's still been plenty productive of late. Across his last 10 games, Lowe has two homers, eight RBI and 10 runs scored. He's maintained an .873 OPS across 57 games this season, his highest mark since 2020.

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk Thursday against the Cardinals. He has now gone yard 13 times in his first 44 games as a Pirate. Lowe also has at least one hit in five of his last six starts, and he's gone 8-for-26 with three homers, four RBI and four runs scored in that span.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Provides lone run in win

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks. Lowe's first-inning homer was all the scoring for either team in this contest, as it gave Paul Skenes all the help he needed. This was the second homer in Lowe's last five contests. The infielder has gone 5-for-17 (.294) in that span, lifting his average for the season to .252 through 31 games. He's added nine homers, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored, eight doubles and no stolen bases. Lowe has topped the 30-homer mark twice in his career, though staying healthy will be the biggest factor in him taking a run at that mark in 2026.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Managing knee issue

Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers due to left knee discomfort, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Manager Don Kelly downplayed the issue and indicated the second baseman could be available off the bench Tuesday.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Taking seat in series finale

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays. With the Rays sending a lefty (Shane McClanahan) to the bump and the teams playing a day game after Saturday's 13-inning affair, Lowe will exit the starting nine for just the third time this season. Nick Gonzales will replace Lowe at the keystone and will bat second.

  • Rays' Bryan Baker: Blows save against Pittsburgh

Baker was charged with a blown save Saturday against the Pirates, allowing one run on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts in one inning. With the heart of the order due up for the Pirates in the bottom of the eighth, manager Kevin Cash called on Baker to protect a 5-4 lead. He yielded a leadoff walk to Brandon Lowe and an infield singled to Ryan O'Hearn before Nick Yorke tied the game with a single. It was Baker's second blown save of the season, though he'd previously recorded four of the Rays' previous five saves. Baker now owns a 4.32 ERA and 9:3 K:BB across 8.1 innings and currently remains Tampa Bay's leading candidate for saves.

It was the veteran second baseman's second hit of the frame and moved him into a tie for second in MLB in home runs. Lowe has been on an absolute tear with three homers and 10 RBI over his last two games, becoming the first player in Pirates history to record five RBI in back-to-back games. Through 65 plate appearances in 2026, the 31-year-old is slashing .278/.400/.678 with 14 RBI and a 186 wRC+, looking every bit like one of the league's most productive bats.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Two homers, five RBI in loss Sunday

Lowe went 2-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI, a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs. Lowe walked in the first inning before taking Jameson Taillon deep for a grand slam in the second. He later tagged Taillon again for a solo shot in the fifth. Lowe entered Sunday with just one extra-base hit and zero RBI in April, so this was a much-needed slump-busting performance for the second baseman. Lowe is slashing .220/.333/.488 with three home runs, four RBI, four runs scored and a 7:10 BB:K across 48 trips to the plate but is batting just .130 with a .405 OPS over the last seven days.
