  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Excellent campaign continues

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 10-4 loss to the Cubs.

Lowe extended his hitting streak to four games courtesy of a third-inning three-run shot off Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon. The slugging second baseman has hit safely in 15 of his 23 outings during the month of May, racking up multiple knocks in four of his past seven games. Lowe is flourishing during his first year with Pittsburgh, slashing .269/.355/.560 with 14 long balls, 12 doubles, 36 RBI and 33 runs over 220 plate appearances.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Pops 13th homer

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk Thursday against the Cardinals.

Lowe gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead in the first inning with what was originally scored as an inside-the-park home run, but it was later ruled a traditional homer. He has now gone yard 13 times in his first 44 games as a Pirate. Lowe also has at least one hit in five of his last six starts, and he's gone 8-for-26 with three homers, four RBI and four runs scored in that span.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Two homers not enough Friday

Lowe went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 11-9 extra-inning loss to the Phillies.

The second baseman launched a two-run homer off Aaron Nola in the third inning before adding a solo shot off Tim Mayza in the fifth, but Kyle Schwarber and the Phillies' offense took control from there. It was Lowe's third multi-homer game of the season, and through his first 39 contests with Pittsburgh he's slashing .252/.352/.563 with 12 long balls, 26 runs and 31 RBI.

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, a walk, four RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Giants.

Lowe contributed to a six-run rally for the Pirates in the seventh inning with a two-RBI triple, and he followed that up with a run-scoring double two frames later. He has multiple hits in each of his last three starts and has six RBI, five runs scored and one home run in that span. Lowe remains a key bat in the Pirates' lineup, hitting .269 with 27 RBI and 24 runs scored across 34 games to begin the season.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers again Thursday

Lowe went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored against the Diamondbacks in a 4-2 victory Thursday.

Lowe didn't take long to make an impact, drilling a 436-foot homer to right field in the first inning. He went on to add a pair of singles, notching his second straight multi-hit game and extending his on-base streak to 11 contests. Lowe has homered in each of his past two games and now has 10 long balls on the campaign. His first season with the Pirates is off to a great start -- through 32 contests he has a .941 OPS, which is on pace to be a career-best mark.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Provides lone run in win

Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Lowe's first-inning homer was all the scoring for either team in this contest, as it gave Paul Skenes all the help he needed. This was the second homer in Lowe's last five contests. The infielder has gone 5-for-17 (.294) in that span, lifting his average for the season to .252 through 31 games. He's added nine homers, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored, eight doubles and no stolen bases. Lowe has topped the 30-homer mark twice in his career, though staying healthy will be the biggest factor in him taking a run at that mark in 2026.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Not in Sunday's lineup

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers

Lowe went 2-for-9 with a double, a run and three strikeouts in the first two games of the series and will hit the bench for the finale. It's likely just a maintenance day for Lowe with a lefty starter (Kyle Harrison) taking the mound for Milwaukee.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Back in lineup Wednesday

Lowe (knee) is starting at second base and batting second in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Lowe was held out of Tuesday's lineup while managing left knee discomfort, but the veteran has been given the green light to return for Wednesday's contest. He is slashing .267/.375/.600 with seven home runs, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored over 88 plate appearances this season.

  • Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Managing knee issue

Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers due to left knee discomfort, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Lowe presumably sustained the injury over the weekend against the Rays and is not starting for a second consecutive game. Manager Don Kelly downplayed the issue and indicated the second baseman could be available off the bench Tuesday.

  • Rays' Bryan Baker: Blows save against Pittsburgh

Baker was charged with a blown save Saturday against the Pirates, allowing one run on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts in one inning.

With the heart of the order due up for the Pirates in the bottom of the eighth, manager Kevin Cash called on Baker to protect a 5-4 lead. He yielded a leadoff walk to Brandon Lowe and an infield singled to Ryan O'Hearn before Nick Yorke tied the game with a single. It was Baker's second blown save of the season, though he'd previously recorded four of the Rays' previous five saves. Baker now owns a 4.32 ERA and 9:3 K:BB across 8.1 innings and currently remains Tampa Bay's leading candidate for saves.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

With the Rays sending a lefty (Shane McClanahan) to the bump and the teams playing a day game after Saturday's 13-inning affair, Lowe will exit the starting nine for just the third time this season. Nick Gonzales will replace Lowe at the keystone and will bat second.
