  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Scores twice, drives in two

Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's 8-6 win against Baltimore.

Hernandez drew a walk and scored in the first inning before doubling in a run in the second. He later drove in the game-tying run and scored the go-ahead run in the seventh. It was Hernandez's second straight multi-hit game, improving his season slash line to .251/.335/.447 with 78 runs scored and 54 extra-base hits. Sunday was his third multi-hit game since returning from the injured list Sept. 7.

  • Jack Mayfield 2B | LAA

Angels' Jack Mayfield: Settling in as bottom-third hitter

Mayfield will start at third base and bat eighth Sunday against the Athletics.

Mayfield will fill a bottom-three spot in the lineup for the third straight contest, even though he's in the midst of a relative heater at the dish. He's recorded a double in each of his last three starts, driving in four runs and scoring twice over that stretch. Mayfield looks set to fill an everyday role at third base for the remainder of the season.

  • Tigers' Harold Castro: Enters lineup Sunday

Castro is starting at second base and batting ninth in Sunday's game against the Rays.

Castro will enter the lineup with Willi Castro getting a day off. Harold Castro doesn't have a regular starting gig but is able to play all over the field for the Tigers, and he's batting .283 this season, so he is capable of collecting some hits when he starts.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Makes impact in win

Ibanez started at designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 2-1 win over the White Sox.

Ibanez, who was reinstated from the injured list Friday, made his first appearance since rejoining Texas. His two singles were in the middle of sequences that led to each run. Prior to the game in which he got hurt that led to a stay on the injured list, Ibanez had an 11-game hit streak (.488/.511/.767) and was the team's best hitter. The question remains if there's an everyday position for Ibanez -- concerns about his glove persist -- but he appears to be on his way to securing a spot on the 2022 roster as a super-utility player or at a position to be determined.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Indians' Andres Gimenez: Cracks three-run homer

Gimenez went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer Saturday against the Yankees.

Gimenez put the finishing touches on a seven-run inning for Cleveland, taking New York reliever Albert Abreu deep to right-center field to make it an 8-0 game. Gimenez is 3-for-7 over the last two games after enduring a 0-for-15 stretch in his previous five.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Blue Jays' Marcus Semien: Hits homer No. 40

Semien went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

Semien socked yet another homer Saturday, taking Bailey Ober deep to get the Blue Jays on the board in the fourth. With this latest bomb, Semien became only the fifth second baseman in MLB history to hit 40 home runs in a season. He is now just three round-trippers behind Davey Johnson for the all-time mark of 43, which was set in 1973.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Out of Saturday's lineup

Kemp is not in the lineup Saturday against the Angels.

Kemp started the past five games and will take a seat after going 3-for-13 with six walks, an RBI, five runs and a stolen base. Josh Harrison starts at second base while Chad Pinder starts in the outfield against Angels southpaw Jose Suarez.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Back in action Saturday

Andrus (foot) is starting at shortstop and batting ninth Saturday against the Angels.

Andrus sat out Friday's contest after being hit by a pitch in the lower leg Thursday, but he'll rejoin the lineup after missing only a single game. The 33-year-old has a .357/.413/.452 slash line with four doubles, six RBI and nine runs through 13 games in September.

  • Blue Jays' Santiago Espinal: Starts rehab assignment

Espinal (hip) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Espinal has been out with a hip flexor since late August. He shouldn't need too long of a rehab assignment given that he's only missed three weeks, though his expected return date is not yet clear.

  • Rangers' Yonny Hernandez: Out of lineup

Hernandez will sit Saturday against the White Sox.

Hernandez sits for the first time in a week. He hasn't done much at the plate in his 32 big-league games thus far, hitting .250/.354/.278, though he has helped fantasy teams out with nine steals. Brock Holt will be the Rangers' third baseman Saturday.
