  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Activated and outrighted

The Blue Jays activated Sosa (wrist) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday and outrighted him to Triple-A Buffalo. Sosa no longer possesses a spot on the Blue Jays' 40-man roster, but he'll remain in the organization at Buffalo. The 26-year-old infielder last played for the Blue Jays in late May, as he's been working his way back from a right wrist contusion.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Resumes rehab assignment

Sosa (wrist) resumed his rehab assignment with Single-A Dunedin on Tuesday, going 1-for-2 with a double and a hit-by-pitch. Sosa was pulled off his initial rehab assignment in late June following a setback. He should be ready to return later this month if he can avoid another snag in the recovery process, though it's unclear whether there will be room for him on the Blue Jays' active roster.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Blue Jays transferred Sosa (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday. Sosa will give up his spot on the 40-man roster to right-hander Jameson Taillon, whom the Blue Jays acquired in a trade with the Cubs. The 26-year-old infielder has been on the shelf since May 28 due to a right wrist contusion and was pulled off a rehab assignment in late June after experiencing a setback. He resumed taking live batting practice last week and should be ready to report back to an affiliate in the near future.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Hitting in live BP this week

Sosa (wrist) will resume taking live batting practice this week, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. Sosa had to be pulled off a rehab assignment in late June following a setback with his bruised right wrist, but he's been ramping things back up and could be ready to try rehab games again soon. The infielder has managed just a .195/.207/.283 batting line in 40 games this season between the White Sox and Blue Jays.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Setback in rehab

Sosa (wrist) resumed hitting in the batting cages earlier this week after experiencing a setback in his rehab program, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. Sosa was cleared to embark on a rehab assignment in late June, but he was pulled from playing after his right wrist injury flared up. He's been cleared to resume baseball activities, but he'll likely need to go on another assignment before being cleared to return to the majors. Prior to his injury, Sosa posted a .490 OPS with one home run and nine RBI across 117 major-league plate appearances.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Placed on injured list

The Blue Jays placed Sosa on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right wrist contusion, retroactive to Wednesday. Sosa sat out Toronto's game Tuesday after getting hit on the wrist by a pitch Monday, and he'll now have to miss at least nine more days after being placed on the injured list. Charles McAdoo was selected from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move to replenish the Jays' infield depth.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Belts first long ball

Sosa went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional run and an additional RBI on Saturday against the Twins in an 11-4 victory. Sosa kicked off the scoring for Toronto with a 415-foot solo shot in the second inning. He added another RBI on an infield single in the eighth. The long ball was Sosa's first of the season in his 24th game after he went deep 22 times across 140 contests with the White Sox in 2025. Overall, he's slashing a modest .257/.254/.386 and has yet to take a walk over 72 plate appearances on the campaign, but he may be heating up after going 5-for-9 across his past two games.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Three hits in win Friday

Sosa went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Twins. It was Sosa's first multi-hit game since he joined the Blue Jays via trade from the White Sox on April 13. Across 34 trips to the plate with Toronto, Sosa has a .281/.273/.375 slash line with three doubles, four RBI, four runs scored and a 0:6 BB:K. He's serving as the team's utility infielder.

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Drives in two runs as pinch hitter

Sosa went 1-for-1 with a two-run double during the Blue Jays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Tuesday. Sosa pinch hit for Jesus Sanchez in the eighth inning and made the most of his opportunity by smacking a two-run double off Drew Pomeranz to put the Blue Jays up 3-1. Since being acquired from the White Sox on April 13, Sosa has gone 4-for-14 (.286) with two doubles and four RBI, and he has given his new team a solid boost at the plate in the absences of both George Springer (toe) and Addison Barger (ankles).

  • Blue Jays' Lenyn Sosa: Shipped out to Toronto

The Blue Jays acquired Sosa from the White Sox on Monday in exchange for outfielder Jordan Rich and a player to be named later or cash considerations. After leading the White Sox with 22 home runs during his age-25 season in 2025, Sosa had somewhat surprisingly fallen out of favor through the first two and a half weeks of the 2026 campaign. He had started in just eight of the White Sox's first 16 games, slashing .212/.212/.303 across 33 plate appearances. Though he'll be joining a Blue Jays squad with more established hitting talent, Sosa could capture a more meaningful role in the short term while the club navigates some injuries. Toronto may give him a look as its primary designated hitter in place of George Springer, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a fractured left big toe.

The 25-year-old has hit safely in four of his past five games, tallying three extra-base hits and five RBI in that span. For the season, he's slashing .263/.292/.433 with 22 home runs, 75 RBI, 55 runs scored and two steals across 536 plate appearances.

Sosa is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Padres. Sosa has just a .559 OPS and 35.6 percent strikeout rate so far in September. After being moved down to the No. 6 spot in the lineup for the previous two games, he'll get a day to regroup Friday. Miguel Vargas is at first base and Curtis Mead is at third base for the White Sox.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Getting breather Friday

Sosa is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Tigers. It looks to be a routine day off for Sosa, who had started each of the previous 11 tilts. Curtis Mead will cover first base in Sosa's stead.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Homers in four-RBI effort

Sosa went 2-for-6 with a three-run home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 13-9 win over Atlanta. Sosa tied a season high in RBI and also launched his 17th long ball of the season. While he has just 14 walks across 108 games, Sosa remains one of the lone bright spots for the last-place White Sox this year. The 25-year-old infielder is hitting a healthy .274 with 16 doubles, 54 RBI and 42 runs scored through 391 at-bats.

Sosa went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and three RBI on Sunday against the Guardians. Sosa kicked off the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning, his 14th of the season. That continued a prolific power surge, as Sosa now has five homers in his last 11 starts. He's also managed to go 13-for-39 with 10 RBI and nine runs scored in that span.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Goes yard Tuesday

Sosa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Mariners. Sosa opened the scoring with his first-inning solo shot off Bryan Woo. The long ball extended Sosa's hitting streak to eight games, during which he has gone 13-for-28 (.464) with three homers and seven RBI. This hot stretch at the plate has helped solidify Sosa's place in the lineup, though he still doesn't have just one position. He's starting to settle in at first base while Miguel Vargas (oblique) is out. For the season, Sosa is batting .281 with a .747 OPS, 12 homers, 44 RBI, 36 runs scored and two stolen bases across 96 contests.

Sosa reached base in all five plate appearances and drove in runs with singles in the fifth and seventh innings. The 25-year-old has posted an .828 OPS over 14 July contests, recording four multi-hit efforts, three home runs, 12 RBI and seven runs scored during that stretch. For the season, he's slashing .274/.300/.422 with nine homers, 34 RBI, 29 runs scored and two stolen bases across 308 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Goes yard twice in nightcap

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a walk and two solo home runs in the second game of Friday's doubleheader split with the Guardians. The 25-year-old started both games of the twin bill at second base, and after an 0-for-3 showing in the matinee, Sosa teed off against Gavin Williams in the nightcap with long balls in the first and fifth frames. Sosa's enjoying a productive stretch heading into the All-Star break, slashing .288/.315/.615 over his last 14 games with five of his nine homers on the season and 14 of his 31 RBI.
