  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Nabs 15th steal

Gimenez went 0-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 10-6 win over the Royals.

Gimenez has seemingly made a larger commitment to run with seven steals through eight games in July. His theft Saturday salvaged an otherwise unimpressive showing, though he's hit safely in six of his games this month. He's at a .245/.318/.384 slash line through 85 contests, and he now has 15 steals on 18 attempts this season.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Mariners' Jose Caballero: Notches pair of steals

Caballero went 2-for-4 with one RBI, two stolen bases and one run scored in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Astros.

Caballero picked up his second multi-steal game of the week, and he was able to snap an 0-for-10 funk at the plate. The second baseman is up to 15-for-17 on the basepaths this year, but he's had some trouble hitting consistently with a .233 batting average. He's managed to offset that with a solid 12.2 percent walk rate over 180 plate appearances, helping him achieve a .361 on-base percentage.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Only dealing with inflammation

Drury's (shoulder) MRI returned clean Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Drury had testing done Friday as there was concern that he was dealing with something more serious than just a bruise. However, the MRI revealed only inflammation. Drury is hoping to start hitting and fielding ground balls in the coming days, with the goal of returning shortly after the All-Star break.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Heads to bench

Kemp will not start Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Kemp started against each of the last six lefties the Athletics faced but will hit the bench here against James Paxton. Jordan Diaz will start at second base Saturday.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Heads to bench

Ibanez will sit Saturday against Toronto.

Ibanez spent nearly the whole first month of the season in the minors but has since gone on to earn an everyday role with the Tigers, starting 13 games in a row prior to Saturday's absence. That playing time helps his fantasy value in deeper leagues, but his .230/.265/.406 slash line doesn't give much confidence that he'll hold onto a similar role in the second half.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Not starting Saturday

Westburg will be on the bench Saturday against the Twins.

Westburg has impressed through his first 10 major-league games, hitting .314/.400/.457 with as many walks as strikeouts (four). He'll get a breather Saturday with Adam Frazier starting at second base and Ramon Urias starting at third.

  • Zach Remillard 2B | CHW

White Sox's Zach Remillard: Drives in three

Remillard went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and three RBI on Friday against the Cardinals.

Remillard has started nine consecutive games, though Friday marked the first time he played in right field. He get the nod over Oscar Colas with a lefty on the mound, so the White Sox appear to be prioritizing Remillard getting consistent run. He's performed well with the opportunity, maintaining a .393 average with eight RBI and three runs scored since taking over an everyday role.

  • Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: Four RBI in blowout win

Merrifield went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 12-2 win over Detroit.

Merrifield gave Toronto a 2-1 lead with an RBI single in the fourth and extended the Blue Jays' advantage to 12-2 with a three-run shot in the ninth. After hitting just two home runs over his first 78 games this season, Merrifield has connected on three long balls over the past two days. Overall, the veteran is slashing .286/.342/.395 with 19 stolen bases, 36 runs scored and 38 RBI across 322 plate appearances, and while his recent power surge is unsustainable, Merrifield is still a valuable offensive player for Toronto.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Sent for tests on shoulder

Drury was sent for more testing Friday due to ongoing shoulder discomfort, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Drury's injury was initially labeled as a left shoulder contusion when he was placed on the 10-day IL earlier this week, but it might be something more serious. The results of the new tests should be available over the weekend.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

    Orioles' Adam Frazier: Sitting Friday

Frazier is not in the starting lineup Friday against Minnesota.

Frazier will head to the bench after he went 5-for-15 with a homer, a double, three RBI and two runs scored over the four-game series with New York. Jordan Westburg will take over at second base and bat fifth in the series opener with the Twins.
