  • Shay Whitcomb 3B | HOU

Astros' Shay Whitcomb: Dispatched back to Triple-A

The Astros optioned Whitcomb to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday.

Whitcomb's most recent stint in the big leagues lasted less than a week, and he struck out in both of his plate appearances. He is being cleared from the active roster to make room for the return of Taylor Trammell (calf) from the 10-day injured list.

  • Mauricio Dubon LF | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Goes yard twice

Dubon went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a two-run home run during Sunday's 8-7 win over the Angels.

Dubon notched his third and fourth home runs in his last five games, bringing his season total up to five long balls. The performance marked Dubon's second-career multi-homer game, with his first coming back in 2023. On the year, Dubon is slashing .255/.297/.421 with 19 runs scored and 18 RBI over 156 plate appearances.

  • Willi Castro 2B | COL

Twins' Willi Castro: Set to miss at least one more game

Castro expects to miss at least one or two more games with a sore right wrist, though an X-ray conducted Sunday came back negative, MLB.com reports.

Castro has dealt with pain in the wrist since Thursday, but it wasn't until Sunday's 9-8 loss to the Brewers that he was forced to miss a game. The super-utility player looks set to remain out of the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Mariners, and he'll be at risk of landing on the injured list if he doesn't show meaningful improvement within the next few days.

  • Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Sparks offense in win

Chisholm went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Orioles.

Chisholm delivered what proved to be the game-winning double in the eighth inning and came around to score an insurance run later in the frame. The 27-year-old has been productive in June, notching his seventh multi-hit effort in 17 games while tallying seven extra-base hits, 11 RBI and nine runs scored. For the season, he's slashing .242/.345/.467 with 10 home runs, 28 RBI, 26 runs scored and 10 steals across 194 plate appearances.

  • David Hamilton 3B | MIL

Red Sox's David Hamilton: On bench against lefty

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

The left-handed-hitting Hamilton appears likely to get regular playing time at second base against right-handed pitching after Boston optioned Kristian Campbell to Triple-A Worcester on Friday, but Hamilton will take a seat Sunday with southpaw Robbie Ray on the hill for the Giants. Though Campbell could end up seeing most of his reps at first base once he's recalled from the minors, Hamilton could still be in danger of fading into a utility role when Alex Bregman (quadriceps) is back from the injured list. Bregman should settle back in as the Red Sox's everyday third baseman once he's activated, which could result in Marcelo Mayer shifting over to the keystone.

  • Max Muncy 3B | ATH

Athletics' Max Muncy: Hitting bench Sunday

Muncy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Muncy will hit the bench after a stretch of 13 consecutive starts during which he slashed .217/.275/.413 with three home runs, one stolen base and nine RBI. Gio Urshela will get the start at third base Sunday, but Muncy should serve as the primary option at the position until one of Zack Gelof (ribs) or Miguel Andujar (oblique) is ready to return from the injured list.

  • Cole Young 2B | SEA

Mariners' Cole Young: On bench Sunday

Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Young will take a seat after he went 0-for-6 with three strikeouts in the first two contests of the series. Jorge Polanco will replace Young at the keystone.

  • Willi Castro 2B | COL

Twins' Willi Castro: Out Sunday with sore wrist

The Twins scratched Castro from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers due to right wrist soreness, Audra Martin of FanDuel Sports Network North reports.

Castro had initially been slated to start in left field and bat third, but DaShawn Keirsey will end up replacing him in the lineup. Though Castro is a switch hitter, the injury is to his throwing hand, so he may have been compromised in the field had the Twins elected to keep him in the lineup. The super-utility player can be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus the Mariners.

  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Settling in at 3B, leadoff spot

Keith will start at third base and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Rays, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Keith will set the table for the Tigers for the fourth straight game, as manager A.J. Hinch has elevated the 24-year-old and his .832 June OPS in the lineup. Additionally, Hinch appears increasingly comfortable using Keith at third base, a position he hadn't played since 2023. Keith looks poised to gain third base eligibility in most fantasy leagues before the All-Star break if his current usage holds.

  • Justin Foscue 2B | TEX

Rangers' Justin Foscue: Joining big-league club

The Rangers recalled Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Foscue will fill Jake Burger's (oblique) spot on the 26-man roster after Burger was placed on the 10-day injured list. Foscue will be making his 2025 MLB debut if he gets into a game. He slashed .269/.360/.487 with 10 home runs in 229 plate appearances with Round Rock while playing first and second base.
