Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas fell back into a smaller role in the team's back field timeshare in Week 8, in a 27-17 loss to the Patriots.

Thomas, who started last week, was the third back off the bench Sunday. He still finished second on the team with nine carries for 47 yards. Thomas also managed to make an impact in the passing game, as he scored from 5 yards out on his lone reception of the game.

Thomas has looked more effective as a runner in recent weeks, as he is averaging 5.1 yards per carry in two games since the bye week. He will try to keep his momentum up in Week 9, when the Dolphins face the Bengals Thursday.  

Cowboys running back Joseph Randle got the start Sunday during the Week 8 game at Detroit with DeMarco Murray needing another week on the inactive list. 

Randle was ineffective as the starting back in the game as the entire Dallas running game struggled without Murray. Randle rushed 14 times for just 26 yards as he averaged 1.9 yards per carry. He had a long run of 7 yards and did not score. 

Randle added three receptions for 18 yards in the game. He was targeted four times in the passing game by Tony Romo. Randle will likely go back to backing up Murray in the Week 9 game against Minnesota. 

Chiefs running back Knile Davis carried the ball three times for 13 yards in the team's Week 8 victory over the Browns. He also caught a pass for 12 yards. Davis last hit double-digits in rushing yards in Week 3, against the Eagles. 

Davis and the Chiefs travel to Buffalo to face the Bills in Week 9. 

Patriots running back Brandon Bolden didn't have a huge amount of success in Week 8 against the Dolphins, but he found the end zone once in a 27-17 win.

Bolden carried the ball eight times for 22 yards to finished third on the team, but he received some goal-line work when the team got close in the third quarter. He scored on a 2-yard touchdown, the second game in a row he has found the end zone. Bolden added two catches for 7 yards.

Bolden has remained productive even in his pretty limited role this season, and will look to keep that up in Week 9 against the Steelers. 

The Cardinals have made RB Rashard Mendenhall, RB Ryan Williams, WR Brittan Golden, G Earl Watford, QB Ryan Lindley, TE Kory Sperry and DE Ronald Talley inactive against the Falcons Week 8. 

Despite Mendenhall missing time, Williams will remain inactive. Talley was listed as probable, but will not go. 

The Broncos ruled the following players as inactive for Sunday's showdown at home against the Redskins: running back Ronnie Hillman, quarterback Zac Dysert, cornerback Champ Bailey, defensive back Tony Carter, guard John Moffitt, guard Chris Kuper and defensive tackle Sylvester Williams.

The San Francisco 49ers listed several healthy scratches for the Week 8 game in London against Jacksonville on Sunday. Those healthy scratches are as follows: RB LaMichael James, CB Nnamdi Asomugha, QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson, LB Jermaine Cunningham, and G Joe Looney.

The Dolphins inactive list for Week 8 against the Patriots was filled with healthy scratches, as the team's injured players were able to take the field. The inactives list featured: offensive linemen Danny Watkins, Dallas Thomas and Will Yeatman; defensive backs Jamar Taylor and Will Davis; quarterback Pat Devlin; and running back Mike Gillislee. 

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles (concussion), linebacker Jake Knott (hamstring), safety Patrick Chung (shoulder), running back Matthew Tucker, tackle Matt Tobin, tackle Dennis Kelly and defensive end Damion Square were among the team's inactives Week 8 vs. N.Y. Giants.

The Cowboys will start Joseph Randle at running back Sunday at Detroit in place of injured starter DeMarco Murray, ESPN reports. Randle registered a career-high 92 scrimmage yards in his debut as a starter last week at Philadelphia.
