McClanahan (9-6) picked up the win after going five innings against Cleveland on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks while striking out three.

After a rocky start in his last outing against Boston, McClanahan bounced back Friday, allowing just one run in five innings of work. The left-hander threw 71 pitches, 45 of them for strikes, though he tied his season low with just three strikeouts. Through 19 starts this season, the 29-year-old now holds a 3.09 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 88:33 K:BB in 96 innings.

Rodriguez (9-3) earned the win against the Nationals on Friday, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four across six innings.

It wasn't exactly a smooth outing, as Rodriguez allowed at least two baserunners in three of six innings he pitched. However, he limited the damage to a two-run homer from Dylan Crews in the fourth inning, and Rodriguez ended his outing with 12 whiffs and seven groundouts on 98 pitches (63 strikes). It was the 13th quality start of the season for Rodriguez, which is tied for fourth-most in the majors, and his 2.64 ERA over 122.2 innings is seventh-best among qualified starters. His next start is lined up for next week on the road against the Pirates.

Bednar earned the save in the Yankees' 1-0 win over the Phillies on Friday, when he struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.

Bednar needed just nine pitches (six strikes) to close out Friday's game for the Yankees, with five of those pitches coming against Bryce Harper, whom he struck out swinging. Bednar has converted 19 of 21 save opportunities this season and has not allowed an earned run since May 18 against the Blue Jays. He has a 2.47 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 49:14 K:BB across 43.2 innings in 2026.

Luzardo (9-5) took the loss against the Yankees on Friday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine across seven innings.

Friday was Luzardo's 13th quality start of the season and the seventh time he recorded at least nine strikeouts. Unfortunately for the southpaw, it wasn't enough to avoid the loss, as the solo home run he gave up to Paul Goldschmidt in the fourth inning turned out to be the only run scored in the game. Still, Luzardo has been pitching well as of late, having allowed one earned run or less in seven of his last eight starts. He'll take a 3.31 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 122.1 innings into his next start, tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Marlins.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 1-0 win over the Phillies.

Goldschmidt was responsible for Friday's lone run with a solo homer off Jesus Luzardo in the fourth inning. It was Goldschmidt's 16th home run of the season, which is tied with Jazz Chisholm for third-most on the Yankees behind Ben Rice (30) and Aaron Judge (ribs) (17). Goldschmidt has a .798 OPS with one steal and 43 RBI over 282 plate appearances this season.

Arrighetti was pulled from his start Friday against the White Sox due to right foot nerve irritation.

Arrighetti gave up two hits and two walks and hit two batters while surrendering three runs in the first inning. He then felt discomfort on the mound while warming up for the second and left the game with a trainer. Arrighetti is lined up to take the mound again Wednesday against the Angels, though it remains unclear whether he'll be ready to go by then.

Schlittler (10-6) earned the win against the Phillies on Friday, allowing three hits while striking out 12 across 7.1 scoreless innings. He did not issue a walk.

The Yankees supplied just one run on a Paul Goldschmidt solo home run, but that's all the help Schlittler needed to secure his 10th win of the season. The 25-year-old right-hander set the tone early by striking out six of the first nine batters he faced and ended his night with 16 whiffs and 68 strikes on 99 pitches. Schlittler was one strikeout shy from matching his season high of 13 against the Reds on June 19, and among qualified starters in the majors, he ranks second in ERA (2.07) and third in WHIP (0.93) as well as second in strikeouts (157) across 130.1 innings. His next start is lined up for next week on the road against the White Sox.

Soto was removed from Friday's game against the Dodgers due to left calf soreness.

Soto logged two walks in two plate appearances before coming out of the game in the sixth inning. The star outfielder exited a game last week due to soreness in the same calf, and although the team has said it isn't anything serious, he could be set for some time off now that it's proved to be a nagging injury. Jorge Polanco would likely pick up reps as New York's designated hitter if Soto were to miss any games.

Arrighetti was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox with an apparent injury, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Arrighetti gave up three runs during the first inning and was taken out of the game by a trainer after throwing a few warm-up pitches ahead of the second frame. It's unknown what exactly he's dealing with, but the Astros should provide an update on his status in the near future.

Susac will start at catcher and bat ninth Friday against the Angels, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Susac was initially left out of San Francisco's starting lineup, but with Drew Cavanaugh now sidelined by an illness, Susac will handle catching duties and bat ninth Friday.
