Jedixson Paez RP | CHW
White Sox's Jedixson Paez: DFA'd by Chicago
The White Sox designated Paez for assignment Wednesday.
Chicago will replace Paez on the 40-man roster and in the bullpen with right-hander Lucas Sims, who was called up from Triple-A Charlotte. Since Paez was a Rule 5 Draft selection over the winter, the White Sox will have to offer him back to the Red Sox if he goes unclaimed off waivers. The 22-year-old righty made relief appearances in three of the White Sox's first five games, allowing six earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two batters over three innings.

Jordan Westburg 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Shifted to 60-day injured list
The Orioles transferred Westburg (elbow) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.
The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Albert Suarez, who was called up from Triple-A Norfolk. Westburg is working his way back from a partially torn UCL in his right elbow and has progressed to swinging a bat and playing catch, manager Craig Albernaz said Wednesday, per Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun. As a result of his move to the 60-day IL, Westburg won't be eligible for activation until May 21 as Baltimore brings him along slowly. Coby Mayo will continue to fill in at third base for the Orioles while Westburg is sidelined.

Braxton Fulford DH | COL
Rockies' Braxton Fulford: Bound for minors
The Rockies optioned Fulford to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
After being recalled from Triple-A on Friday, Fulford didn't make any starts but appeared in three of the Rockies' ensuing five games, going 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run. He'll cede his spot on the active roster to utility man Tyler Freeman (back), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Orioles' Zach Eflin: Sent to IL with sore elbow
The Orioles placed Eflin (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.
Eflin was lifted from his start Tuesday against the Rangers due to right elbow discomfort. He's set to undergo an MRI on Wednesday, at which point more will be known about how long he will be sidelined. Dean Kremer is likely to be called up from Triple-A Norfolk to take over Eflin's spot in the Baltimore rotation.

Tyler Freeman RF | COL
Rockies' Tyler Freeman: Returns from IL
The Rockies reinstated Freeman (back) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Freeman spent the minimum length of time on the shelf after the Rockies deactivated him prior to Opening Day while he recovered from lower-back inflammation. The 26-year-old didn't complete a rehab assignment prior to returning from the shelf, but he was able to get in some live at-bats during batting practice in Toronto the past two days, per MLB.com. Freeman is expected to fill a super-utility role for Colorado and should be a mainstay in the lineup against left-handed pitching while playing semi-regularly against right-handed pitching.

Jordan Walker RF | STL
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Getting breather Wednesday
Walker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mets.
Walker will get his first day off this season after going 5-for-17 with one home run and a 3:3 BB:K in his first five contests. Nathan Church will slide over to right field and Thomas Saggese will play left field for the Cardinals in Wednesday's series finale.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Athletics' Jeff McNeil: Exits lineup versus lefty
McNeil is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta.
The left-handed-hitting McNeil looks to be in a straightforward platoon at second base, as he's now been absent from the lineup each of the three times the Athletics have gone up against a southpaw. Darrell Hernaiz is covering second base and batting eighth Wednesday.

Lawrence Butler RF | ATH
Athletics' Lawrence Butler: Sitting against left-hander
Butler is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Atlanta.
Atlanta is sending left-hander Chris Sale to the mound, and this marks the second time in three games versus southpaws this season that the lefty-swinging Butler is out of the lineup. Brent Rooker is getting a start in right field and Shea Langeliers will be the designated hitter for the Athletics.
