Matt Shaw RF | CHC
Cubs' Matt Shaw: Back in lineup Friday
Shaw (personal) will start at third base and bat ninth in Friday's game versus the Rays.
Shaw had to be scratched from Wednesday's lineup against Atlanta due to personal reasons, but he appeared as a pinch hitter in that contest and is back in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Rays. The rookie infielder had a great start to the second half but has slowed down in recent weeks, slashing .212/.276/.269 with no home runs over his last 19 games.

Atlanta recalled Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
Stratton will fill the spot of Daysbel Hernandez (shoulder) on the active roster. In 9.2 innings of relief with Atlanta, Stratton has a 1.86 ERA and a 7:2 K:BB. He's posted a 1.59 ERA in 11.1 innings with Gwinnett as well.

Daysbel Hernandez RP | ATL
Braves' Daysbel Hernandez: Out with shoulder injury
Atlanta placed Hernandez on the 15-day injured list Friday with right shoulder inflammation.
Hernandez hasn't pitched in nearly a week, but he allowed three runs while recording just two outs in that outing. He will be eligible for activation during the final week of the season, but given the nature of the injury, Hernandez's 2025 campaign could be over.

JP Sears SP | SD
Padres' JP Sears: Drawing start Friday
Sears will be recalled from Triple-A El Paso to start Friday's game against the Rockies, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Inserting Sears in for a spot start gives the regular members of the Padres rotation some extra rest, as Dylan Cease will now start the second game of the series Saturday and Yu Darvish will take the ball Sunday. Sears has made three starts for the Padres since arriving in San Diego at the trade deadline, posting a 5.52 ERA and 8:3 K:BB over 14.2 frames.

Mickey Moniak LF | COL
Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Swipes bag Thursday
Moniak went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Padres.
Moniak had the lone multi-hit effort for the Rockies, accounting for half of their hit total. He ended an 0-for-11 skid at the plate over his previous four games. The outfielder is also up to seven steals on 10 attempts this season after swiping a bag in the defeat. Moniak has added 19 home runs, 57 RBI, 54 runs scored and a .262/.301/.494 slash line across 123 contests while being a lineup regular for Colorado.

Dalton Rushing C | LAD
Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Begins rehab assignment
Rushing (lower leg) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Rushing has been sidelined since Saturday with a shin injury, but it appears that he has the chance to be activated after a minimum stint on the injured list. He went 1-for-4 with a double and caught all nine innings of Thursday's game.

McCade Brown P | COL
Rockies' McCade Brown: Shows progress but gets no support
Brown (0-4) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings to take the loss Thursday versus the Padres.
This was Brown's longest start and also featured the fewest runs allowed of his four major-league outings so far. However, the Rockies mustered just four hits in the whole game, giving the rookie right-hander next to nothing for offensive support. Brown is now at a 9.88 ERA, 2.12 WHIP and 10:9 K:BB across 13.2 innings in the majors. He'll remain tough to trust in fantasy for the rest of the campaign. Brown's next start is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Marlins.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Padres' Luis Arraez: Productive in Thursday's win
Arraez went 3-for-4 with one RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Rockies.
Arraez had gone just 1-for-13 at the plate since his last three-hit effort Saturday. The infielder drove in the Padres' opening run in the third inning and picked up his second steal in six games. On the year, Arraez is up to a .285/.320/.387 slash line with seven home runs, 55 RBI, 58 runs scored and 11 steals across 141 contests.

Jackson Merrill CF | SD
Padres' Jackson Merrill: Homers in win
Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Rockies.
Merrill struggled a bit right to begin September after returning from an ankle injury, but he's bounced back quickly. Over his last six games, he has gone 8-for-23 (.348) with six extra-base hits, including two homers. The outfielder is up to 11 homers, 56 RBI, 47 runs scored and one stolen base while slashing .259/.314/.429 over 101 contests in an injury-riddled season.

Robert Suarez RP | ATL
Padres' Robert Suarez: Picks up 37th save
Suarez struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Rockies.
Suarez has allowed three runs over 7.1 innings in September, but this was his third clean appearance of the month. The Padres haven't generated a ton of save chances lately, which has led to Suarez slipping to second in the majors with 37 saves, two behind Kansas City's Carlos Estevez. Suarez is now at a 3.11 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 67:15 K:BB through 63.2 innings this season.
