The Cardinals reinstated Pushard (knee) from the injured list Saturday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Pushard landed on the injured list at the end of March with right knee tendinitis. He's made 11 rehab appearances at Triple-A Memphis since then, recording a 3.55 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 10 strikeouts over 12.2 innings. Now that the Rule 5 pick is fully healthy, the Cardinals will keep him in their big-league bullpen and likely use him as a middle reliever. Jared Shuster was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Soto went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Yankees.

He spoiled Cam Schlittler's shutout bid by taking the young righty deep in the seventh inning. Soto has homered in consecutive games, and five of his six long balls on the season have come in the last 15 contests, a stretch in which he's slashing .246/.319/.557 with eight total extra-base hits, one steal, nine RBI and 11 runs.

Thornton could be a candidate to be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to replace the injured Clay Holmes (fibula) in the Mets' big-league rotation.

Holmes was struck by a comebacker Friday and fractured his right fibula, creating another hole in the rotation. While Thornton doesn't have the prospect pedigree of Jonah Tong or Jack Wenninger, the 24-year-old southpaw has added velocity and advanced quickly through the system since being a fifth-round pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft. Thornton's two-seam and four-seam fastballs sit in the low 90s but can touch 95 miles per hour, and he also works with a potentially plus slider, a cutter, a changeup and a curveball. He was promoted to Triple-A at the beginning of May, and through two starts for Syracuse he sports a 2.25 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB over 12 innings. Thornton isn't yet on the 40-man roster, but he's on turn to potentially replace Holmes, having also pitched Friday.

Borucki struck out one in a scoreless inning during Friday's 5-2 loss to the Athletics. He also hit a batter.

Borucki hit the first batter he faced before inducing a double play and recording a strikeout to escape the inning. The left-hander has turned in three straight scoreless appearances, striking out two over 4.1 innings during that span. He now owns a 4.41 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB across 16.1 innings in 17 appearances this season.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a double in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Athletics.

Adames singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth, marking his 13th two-bagger of the season. The 30-year-old shortstop has recorded five multi-hit performances over the last eight games, batting .353 with five RBI, two runs scored and two doubles in 35 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's now slashing .225/.258/.348 with 15 runs scored, 11 RBI, three long balls and a stolen base across 186 plate appearances this season.

Tong could get a chance to replace Clay Holmes (fibula) in the Mets' rotation, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Holmes was struck by a comebacker Friday and fractured his right fibula, creating another hole on the big-league staff. Tong has struggled with his control this season at Triple-A Syracuse, walking multiple batters in all nine of his starts while stumbling to a 5.68 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 38 innings, but he's also struck out 55 batters. The 22-year-old right-hander is also on the 40-man roster, giving him a slight edge on fellow prospect Jack Wenninger, although that's less of an issue with Holmes likely to land on the 60-day IL. Tong last pitched May 14 for Syracuse, so he would be roughly on turn when the Mets next need a fifth starter May 20 against the Nationals.

Wenninger has been impressive of late for Triple-A Syracuse, tossing 16.2 scoreless innings over his last three starts while allowing only seven hits with a 19:7 K:BB, but his overall 38:18 K:BB in 33.1 frames this season suggests he could still use some more development time. The 24-year-old right-hander is next set to take the mound Sunday for Syracuse, while the Mets will need a new starting pitcher May 20 when Holmes' next turn would have come around, so whether Wenninger gets scratched this weekend will provide an early clue as to the organization's plans.

Urias was scheduled to get his injured right elbow re-evaluated by a doctor Friday, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Out since early May with tennis elbow, Urias has spent the past week getting treatment and doing strengthening exercises, and he was able to progress to on-field work pregame Friday. It's unclear what the result was from Friday's doctor visit, but Urias could soon get clearance to ramp up his activities. The veteran infielder is eligible to return now but does not yet have a timetable.

Myers might get a chance to replace Clay Holmes (fibula) in the Mets' rotation, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander started 31 games for the Brewers over the prior two seasons before being acquired as part of the Freddy Peralta trade this winter, but Myers has been used almost exclusively out of the bullpen in 2026 and has yet to throw more than 40 pitches in an appearance, and no more than 25 in his last five outings dating back to May 6. The Mets don't have a day off until May 28, however, so they'll need to decide quickly who will plug the hole in the rotation after Holmes was struck by a comebacker Friday and fractured his right fibula. Prospects Jonah Tong and Jack Wenninger are also options, but both have struggled to find the plate on a consistent basis at Triple-A Syracuse.

Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Friday against the Phillies.

Ozuna took Aaron Nola deep in the fifth inning to record his fifth home run of the season. While his season-long numbers are still lagging behind expectations, Ozuna has hit .244 with three homers, eight RBI and eight runs scored across 12 games since the start of May.
