Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Begins rehab assignment
Bogaerts (shoulder) went 1-for-3 with a walk in his first rehab game with Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.
Bogaerts is expected to require 7-to-10 days on his rehab assignment, so he could be back just before the All-Star break if all goes well. The veteran infielder has been sidelined since late May with a fractured left shoulder.

TJ Friedl CF | CIN
Reds' TJ Friedl: Scheduled for follow-up MRI
Friedl (hamstring) is scheduled for a follow-up MRI exam Monday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
If the results of the exam show progress, Friedl will likely be cleared to begin running and participating in more advanced baseball activities. The outfielder said he's playing catch and swinging off a tee. Friedl was eligible to be activated off the 10-day injured list July 4.

Nick Martini DH | COL
Reds' Nick Martini: Swats homer in win
Martini went 1-for-1 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Yankees.
Martini put the Reds on top early with a second-inning home run, his fifth of the season and first in 12 games since being recalled from the minors. He later walked and was removed once a left-hander entered the game. He's been a steady lineup presence lately against right-handers, a deployment that should continue until TJ Friedl (hamstring) is ready to return.

Luke Maile C | KC
Reds' Luke Maile: Removed with side injury
Maile was removed from Thursday's game in the seventh inning after sustaining a side injury near his right hip, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Maile said he was uncomfortable all day and felt pain on the follow-through of his swing that produced an inning-ending groundout in the bottom of the sixth frame. He remained in the game but was eventually removed the next inning. Maile described it as a nerve hurting on the lower right side of his hip. He received treatment following the game and reports feeling better already.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Homers in win
Pederson went 1-for-2 with two walks, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 12-3 win over the Dodgers.
Pederson got the rout started early against his former team with a first-inning solo homer. It was his second home run in the last three games and 12th of the season. Pederson maintains career highs in average (.284) and OPS (.896), mostly against right-handed pitching. Just 18 of his 250 plate appearances have come against left-handers.

Alek Thomas CF | LAD
Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Swipes first bag
Thomas went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Dodgers.
Thomas returned to the lineup after getting a day off Wednesday. The day off was likely due to manager Torey Lovullo easing Thomas back into the lineup following a three-month absence while on the injured list. The outfielder doesn't have a history as a high-volume base stealer, but Thomas could help in that category. He's stolen between nine and 15 bases in each of his five seasons in the Diamondbacks organization.

Jesus Sanchez DH | ARI
Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Finishes single short of cycle
Sanchez went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and a two-run home run in an extra-innings loss to the Red Sox on Thursday.
Sanchez broke up Boston starter Nick Pivetta's no-hit bid with a triple in the seventh inning. He went on to record a double in the ninth and a game-tying two-run homer in the 11th. It was the second straight three-hit effort for Sanchez, who had been struggling with a .171 average in 11 contests prior to the productive two-game stretch.

Kyle Tyler RP | BAL
Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Completes career-high 5.1 frames
Tyler allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against Boston on Thursday.
He couldn't come close to matching the dominant performance of opposing starter Nick Pivetta, but Tyler was able to keep the Marlins in the contest and was taken off the hook for a loss after Miami posted an eighth-inning rally. Tyler's 5.1 frames were a career high, and he has now given up two or fewer runs in each of his four appearances this season, though he's totaled just 16 frames over those outings. The right-hander has pitched well enough with a 3.38 overall ERA to remain in Miami's rotation for the time being, though it remains to be seen if he'll stick around once the team's staff starts to get healthy.

Jake Fraley RF | TB
Reds' Jake Fraley: Drives in three runs Thursday
Fraley went 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 8-4 victory versus the Yankees.
Fraley broke the game open for the Reds with his bases-clearing triple in the seventh inning. It was just the third three-bagger of his six-year career, with two taking place this season. Fraley tacked on a stolen base in Thursday's victory, giving him 12 thefts on the campaign.

Spencer Steer 1B | CIN
Reds' Spencer Steer: Belts three-run homer
Steer went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk against the Yankees in an 8-4 victory Thursday.
Steer gave the Reds a 5-0 lead with his three-run blast to the short porch in right field in the fifth inning. The long ball was his 11th of the campaign, and he's just shy of the halfway point to reaching the 23 homers he hit last season. Steer also has 54 RBI, 41 runs and 13 stolen bases through 355 plate appearances this year.
