Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Back from injured list
The Giants reinstated Flores (knee) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Flores landed on the injured list June 28 due to right knee tendinitis, and he's been given the green light to return to the active roster after slightly more than a minimum-length stay on the IL. The 32-year-old has slashed just .206/.282/.317 with 25 RBI in 227 plate appearances, though he'll presumably operate in the short side of a platoon at first base with LaMonte Wade.

Phil Maton RP | CHC
Mets' Phil Maton: Shipped to Mets
The Rays traded Maton to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash.
In 40 appearances with the Rays, Maton has posted a 4.58 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 35.1 innings -- a considerable step back from his 3.00 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 2023. He'll now head to New York in order to add depth to the Mets' bullpen and will likely remain in a middle-relief role. Joey Lucchesi was designated for assignment in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster.

Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Available off bench Tuesday
Manager Craig Counsell said Crow-Armstrong (thumb) is available off the bench for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Crow-Armstrong received stitches in his left thumb following Wednesday's game against the Phillies. The 22-year-old hasn't played since, and his hitting session Tuesday was his first since the injury. Crow-Armstrong is slashing .199/.247/.294 with 16 stolen bases, three triples, one home run and 15 RBI over 150 plate appearances this season.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Placed on IL with back tightness
The Dodgers placed Glasnow on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to lower back tightness, retroactive to July 6.
Glasnow's back flared up Sunday while playing catch, per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, and his placement on the injured list means he will miss the All-Star game, with Reds right-hander Hunter Greene taking his spot. Glasnow was originally slated to pitch Thursday against the Phillies, but Landon Knack will now take to the mound for the series finale. If Glasnow returns right after the 15-day minimum, he would be lined up to start in the series finale against the Red Sox on July 21. The 30-year-old is 8-5 over 13 starts this season with a 3.47 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 143:29 K:BB over 109 innings.

Dodgers' Michael Petersen: Returns to majors
The Dodgers recalled Petersen from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
Petersen was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday after allowing five earned runs across 9.2 innings across six appearances, but he's been summoned with the Dodgers in need of a fresh bullpen arm. His return coincides with Tyler Glasnow (back) landing on the injured list.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Resting Tuesday
McCutchen isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Tuesday's game versus Milwaukee, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
After going 1-for-10 with five strikeouts during Pittsburgh's last series against the Mets, McCutchen will get a breather for Tuesday's series opener. His absence will move Bryan Reynolds into the DH spot while Jack Suwinski, Michael Taylor and Joshua Palacios start across the outfield.

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Sitting down Tuesday
Cruz (hamstring) isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Cruz made an early exit from Monday's game against the Mets due to hamstring tightness, and he'll now miss a start Tuesday as a result of the injury. Jared Triolo will fill in at shortstop and bat eighth.

Mark Leiter RP | ATH
Cubs' Mark Leiter: Activated from IL
The Cubs activated Leiter (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Following Leiter's live batting practice session Saturday, manager Craig Counsell said he would be activated during the Cubs' upcoming series at Baltimore. The right-hander was on the injured list due to a right forearm strain and is now set to make his return after landing on the IL on June 23. In a corresponding move, Ethan Roberts was optioned to Triple-A Iowa.
-
Ethan Roberts RP | CHC
Cubs' Ethan Roberts: Optioned to Iowa
The Cubs optioned Roberts to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The move is to make room on the 26-man roster for Mark Leiter (forearm), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list. Roberts made three appearances out of the Cubs' bullpen since being called up from Iowa on June 28, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out three over four scoreless innings. Roberts hasn't allowed an earned run over 13.1 innings in Triple-A this season, and the 27-year-old right-hander should be in line for another call-up this season should the Cubs need help out of their bullpen.
