  • Zac Gallen SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Cleared to start Saturday

Gallen (cramps) has been cleared to start Saturday's game against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

Gallen battled general body cramps during his last start this past Saturday against the Phillies and departed after 4.1 innings, taking him out of the mix for a win in the Diamondbacks' eventual 11-1 victory. With six days to recover from that start, Gallen looks to be healthy again and shouldn't face any restrictions when he takes the hill Saturday. The right-hander owns a 3-0 record, 3.18 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 28.1 innings over his five starts since the All-Star break.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Racks up three hits in loss

Ozuna went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Angels.

Ozuna was the only Atlanta batter to record multiple hits in the contest. He's shown no signs of slowing down in August, going 19-for-61 (.311) with four homers over 15 contests this month. He's up to a .302/.374/.580 slash line, 35 home runs, 90 RBI, 75 runs scored and 23 doubles across 122 games this season.

  • Braves' Spencer Schwellenbach: Falls to Angels

Schwellenbach (4-6) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight over five-plus innings to take the loss Friday versus the Angels.

Schwellenbach cruised through the Angels' order the first time around, but he gave up a two-run home run to Logan O'Hoppe in the fourth inning. He then walked the first two batters in the sixth, and Pierce Johnson allowed one of them to score after replacing him on the mound, leaving Schwellenbach with his first loss since July 21. This was the first time in four outings he didn't get a quality start. The rookie right-hander is now at a 4.04 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 85:14 K:BB over 75.2 innings through 13 starts this season. There was talk earlier in the month of managing Schwellenbach's workload, so consider him tentatively projected to pitch at home versus the Phillies next week.

  • Bobby Miller RP | LAD

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Will start Saturday

Miller will be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

With Tyler Glasnow (elbow) on the injured list, the Dodgers will turn to Miller to fill the gap in their rotation. The 25-year-old righty has performed poorly in the majors this season (8.07 ERA, 1.83 WHIP in 29 innings over seven starts), and his results over his last three starts at Triple-A (5.54 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 11:11 K:BB in 13 innings) don't inspire much confidence. Even with Glasnow landing on the IL, the Dodgers have five other healthy starting options and an off day coming up Thursday, so Miller might not be guaranteed any further turns in the rotation beyond Saturday.

  • Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Clubs 11th homer

Kim went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Rockies.

Kim ended a 40-game homer drought, lifting his first long ball since June 22 when he went deep in the second inning. The shortstop hit .246 and slugged a paltry .292 during his power drought. He's slashing .229/.328/.365 with 11 homers, 47 RBI, 60 runs scored and 22 stolen bases over 119 contests, but his drop in production this year has yet to cost him his starting role at shortstop.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Ends homer drought

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Rockies.

The long ball was Bogaerts' first since July 28. Over the 14 games in between homers, he went 14-for-56 (.250) with two doubles, five RBI and seven runs scored. The infielder is up to six homers, six stolen bases, 25 RBI, 38 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple while slashing .267/.308/.373 over 73 contests this season.

  • Matt Waldron RP | WAS

Padres' Matt Waldron: Hit hard in Colorado

Waldron (7-10) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out six over 5.2 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Rockies.

To his credit, Waldron mostly spared the Padres' bullpen after laboring through a four-run first inning that saw him throw 28 of his 102 pitches. This was the third time in four outings he's given up at least five runs, and he's yielded at least one home run in nine of his last 11 starts after surrendering just six long balls over his first 14 appearances. Waldron has a 4.29 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 127:39 K:BB through 138.1 innings over 25 starts this season. His next outing is projected to come at home versus the Twins.

  • Michael Toglia 1B | CIN

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Picks up steal in win

Toglia went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Padres.

Toglia extended his hitting streak to nine games, a span in which he's gone 11-for-31 (.355). He continues to see steady playing time at first base, even though he's in the midst of a 13-game homer drought. For the season, he's recorded a .220/.296/.489 slash line with 19 homers, six steals, 43 RBI, 42 runs scored, eight doubles and three triples over 297 plate appearances.

  • Brenton Doyle CF | CHW

Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Swipes bag Friday

Doyle went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Padres.

Doyle is in a groove again, going 9-for-26 (.346) with three steals and four RBI over his last seven games. The outfielder went just 6-for-47 (.128) over a road-heavy 13-game span from July 26 to Aug. 8. He's put together an excellent blend of power and speed this year, posting 20 home runs, 24 steals, 60 RBI, 68 runs scored, 20 doubles and three triples while slashing .266/.324/.465 over 118 contests, though he remains considerably better at home than he is on the road.

  • Jordan Beck RF | COL

Rockies' Jordan Beck: Three hits from bottom of order

Beck went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Padres.

Beck has gone 5-for-11 with two RBI over three games since he rejoined the Rockies' 26-man roster. More impressively, he got the start and performed well against a right-handed starter (Matt Waldron) in Friday's contest. Beck is at a .222/.237/.333 slash line with two home runs, 10 RBI, five runs scored and two stolen bases over 93 plate appearances in the majors this year. He'll still have to earn an everyday role, but the top prospect looks poised to push Sam Hilliard for playing time in left field.
