Realmuto (knee) isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Marlins.

Realmuto was taken out of Friday's contest after he fouled a ball off his left knee in the second inning. The team hasn't indicated that the 33-year-old will need to spend time on the injured list, though the issue is apparently severe enough to warrant a day off Saturday. Garrett Stubbs will catch for starting pitcher Aaron Nola.

The Cardinals optioned Leahy to Triple-A Memphis on Saturday.

Leahy has turned in a 4.30 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over 14.2 innings since being recalled from the minors in late-July, though he'll now be sent back to Triple-A after giving up three runs over 1.1 frames during Friday's loss. Chris Roycroft was recalled from Memphis in a corresponding move.

The Cardinals recalled Roycroft from Triple-A Memphis on Saturday.

Since being optioned to Triple-A at the end of July, Roycroft has turned in a 2.60 ERA and 1.50 WHIP alongside a 19:6 K:BB through 17.1 innings. He'll now rejoin the Cardinals' bullpen to provide the big squad with a fresh arm, replacing Kyle Leahy.

Marte isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Marte will grab a seat on the bench after going 4-for-17 with two RBI across his last five games. While he rests, Brandon Nimmo, Harrison Bader and Jesse Winker will make up New York's outfield unit.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Saturday that McNeil was diagnosed with a fractured wrist and will miss the remainder of the season, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

McNeil had to leave Friday's game early after getting hit on the wrist by a pitch in the fifth inning, and the incident will ultimately end up putting an early end to his campaign. The 32-year-old will finish the 2024 regular season with a .238/.308/.384 slash line alongside 12 homers and 44 RBI across 472 plate appearances. Jose Iglesias figures to serve as New York's primary second baseman for the final month of the season.

Pederson isn't in Arizona's lineup for Saturday's game versus the Astros.

The left-handed bat of Pederson will stay put in the dugout Saturday with southpaw Yusei Kikuchi set to start on the hill for Houston. Ketel Marte will instead serve as the Snakes' designated hitter, opening up second base for Kevin Newman.

Herrera (head) will start at catcher and bat ninth Saturday versus Houston.

Herrera had to make an early exit from Friday's contest after getting hit in the head by Kyle Tucker's backswing, but the 27-year-old backstop appears to be fine entering Saturday's game. Since Aug. 20, he's gone 4-for-22 with four RBI and two runs scored.

Del Castillo isn't in Arizona's lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

With Yusei Kikuchi slated to start for Houston, the lefty-hitting Del Castillo will retreat to the bench Saturday. Jose Herrera (head) will fill in behind the dish and bat ninth.

Siani went 2-for-3 with a stolen base in Friday's 6-1 loss to the Mariners.

Siani has gone 3-for-14 with two steals and two RBI over four games since he returned from an oblique injury. The center fielder was the only Cardinal with multiple hits in Friday's contest. He's up to a .254/.295/.319 slash line with 16 thefts, two home runs, 20 RBI, 37 runs scored, six doubles and two triples through 105 contests this year.

Paredes isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

After going 0-for-13 with six strikeouts over his last four games, Paredes will get a chance to regroup while Patrick Wisdom covers third base, batting eighth.
