Irvin (10-13) allowed five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three over four innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Cubs.

Irvin yielded three home runs, which accounted for four of the five runs he surrendered. He's struggled with the Cubs both times he's faced them this year, allowing 12 runs over 8.2 innings in those starts. Irvin is now at a 4.22 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 153:49 K:BB across 183.1 innings through 32 starts. His last start of the season is projected to be at home versus the Phillies.

Hays (kidney) could be activated off the 10-day injured list Tuesday following his rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley over the weekend, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Hays has been on the IL since Sept. 5 due to a kidney infection. The 29-year-old outfielder has thus far played in two games for Lehigh Valley, going 2-for-9 with one walk and three runs. Barring any setbacks, Hays could be activated ahead of Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Moreno exited Sunday's game against the Brewers with left adductor tightness, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

As Friedman notes, it's the same injury that Moreno just returned from last week. The extent of his latest setback is uncertain, but this is potentially a big blow to an Arizona team primed for the playoffs. Even if Moreno doesn't need to go on the injured list, the team could bring Adrian Del Castillo back up for catching depth over the final week of the regular season.

Happ was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The reason for Happ's removal from the lineup was not immediately available. Mike Tauchman is now slated to lead off against right-hander Jake Irvin as Patrick Wisdom starts in left, batting sixth.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Sunday that Senga (calf) will not return from the 60-day injured list during the regular season after the right-hander felt tightness in his right tricep during a rehab outing with Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Senga will continue to throw, which suggests a return during the postseason may still be on the table, but he will end the regular season having made a lone appearance with the big club. The 31-year-old began the season on the IL with a shoulder strain and then strained his calf in his 2024 debut in July. His innings will be tough to project in 2025 after the injury-plagued season.

Taylor will start in center field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Taylor will pick up his seventh start in eight games and may have settled into a regular spot in the lineup at the expense of J.D. Martinez, who is in the midst of an 0-for-30 stretch at the plate and will take a seat for the second day in a row. Dating back to the second week of September, Taylor is slashing .385/.484/.654 with one home run, one stolen base, six runs and three RBI over a stretch of 11 games.

Moreno was removed from Sunday's game against the Brewers with an apparent injury, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

A ball bounced and hit Moreno in his lower abdomen, though Jackson said the backstop appeared to be favoring his leg more than his abdominal area. Regardless, Moreno had to leave the game, and his status is currently up in the air. The Diamondbacks wrap up their regular season with a six-game homestand next week.

Cave will start in right field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Cave has now started in five of the Rockies' last six matchups with right-handed starting pitchers and may have recaptured the strong side of a platoon in right field with the right-handed-hitting Jordan Beck. Since the beginning of August, Cave is getting on base at a modest .268 clip but has at least provided some pop (11 extra-base hits).

Beck is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

The right-handed-hitting Beck will hit the bench for a second straight game, with both absences from the lineup coming against right-handed pitchers. With a lowly .458 OPS thus far in September, Beck may have lost hold of an everyday role and fallen into the short side of a platoon with Jake Cave.

Martinez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Martinez is in the midst of a career-worst stretch at the plate, having gone 0-for-his-last-31, which is also the longest slump by a Mets hitter this season. He'll be on the bench for a second straight game, and Saturday's absence came against an opposing lefty starter. The 37-year-old may have played his way out of the regular lineup.
