The 29-year-old has now yielded just five earned runs across three straight quality starts, though he'd totaled just two strikeouts in the previous two outings before compiling a season-high nine Friday. He'll carry a 4.27 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 44:20 K:BB across 59 innings this season into a tough road matchup with the Dodgers next week.

Webb (5-6) took the loss against the Rockies on Friday, allowing seven runs on 11 hits and two walks with two strikeouts over three innings.
Webb struggled from the jump, allowing a leadoff homer to Jake McCarthy while yielding multiple runs in each frame. It marked the shortest outing of the year for the 29-year-old, bringing about an abrupt end to a stellar run in which he had completed at least seven frames in five consecutive quality starts. He owns a 3.66 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 78:24 K:BB across 93.1 innings this season and will try to rebound in a home matchup with the Blue Jays next week.

Karros was a thorn in the Giants' side all game, scoring a game-high three runs from the eighth spot in the order. It continued a hot streak for the 23-year-old, who's hit safely in nine of his past 11 games with seven extra-base hits, six RBI, 10 runs scored and a stolen base during that span. On the season, he's slashing .263/.363/.420 with six homers, 26 RBI, 43 runs scored and three steals across 284 plate appearances.

Tovar launched a two-run shot in the second inning before adding a sacrifice fly in the eighth. It marked the third time this season the 24-year-old has tallied three hits in a game, and he's now recorded four extra-base hits and six RBI over his past 10 contests. McCarthy became just the seventh player ever to tally a leadoff homer and a grand slam in the same game, per Thomas Harding of MLB.com. It continued a scorching run for the 28-year-old, who's logged multiple hits in six of his past nine games with eight extra-base hits, 16 RBI, nine runs scored and two steals during that stretch. For the year, he's slashing a strong .308/.346/.522 with nine home runs, 47 RBI, 36 runs scored and 14 steals across 269 plate appearances.

Nationals' Tom Cosgrove: Shipped to Nationals
The Astros traded Cosgrove to the Nationals on Friday in exchange for cash, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Cosgrove has spent the entire season with Houston's Triple-A affiliate, turning in a 4.30 ERA and 1.44 WHIP to go with a 29:21 K:BB through 29.1 innings. He didn't own a spot on the 40-man roster with the Astros, so he'll slot in as bullpen depth at Triple-A Rochester to begin his tenure with the Nats.

Soto tied things up early with a two-run blast off Grant Holmes in the third inning.
