Hendricks did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Reds, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.1 scoreless innings.

Hendricks needed just 81 pitches to work into the eighth inning, finishing with arguably his best start of the season. Over his final five outings, the veteran logged two quality starts while yielding two earned runs or fewer four times. He'll conclude a disappointing campaign with a 5.92 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 87:43 K:BB across 130.2 innings and will hit free agency this offseason.

The Dodgers optioned Casparius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.

Casparius performed well during his bulk-relief outing Friday, giving up one run and striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings. However, the Dodgers will send him back to the minors in an effort to stack their bullpen with as many fresh arms as possible. Justin Wrobleski will be the choice to take Casparius' place on the active roster.

The Dodgers recalled Wrobleski from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.

Wrobleski owns a 6.40 ERA and 1.42 WHIP through 32.1 major-league innings on the year, though his numbers are heavily inflated by a 10-run outing he endured Sept. 1 against Arizona. He'll return to Los Angeles to give the Dodgers a fresh multi-inning option out of the bullpen, replacing Ben Casparius.

The Padres optioned Jacob to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.

After returning to the majors at the end of August, Jacob allowed three earned runs over 8.1 innings across three appearances, though he hadn't pitched in a game since Sept. 14. He'll now head back to the minors as the Padres sacrifice some of their bullpen depth to bring back Randy Vasquez, who will start Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The Padres recalled Vasquez from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday ahead of his start versus Arizona.

Vasquez allowed nine earned runs over 4.1 innings during his last MLB start Aug. 31 and turned in a 7.20 ERA over 15 frames to finish the season in Triple-A, but he'll be called upon nonetheless to get San Diego through its penultimate regular-season game Saturday. On top of his poor performance, the 25-year-old will match up against a Diamondbacks offense that boasts an .818 OPS since the start of September, making him a rather unappealing streaming option. Alek Jacob was optioned to El Paso in a corresponding move.

Conforto isn't in the Giants' lineup Saturday versus the Cardinals, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Conforto has gone 7-for-20 with two homers and four RBI over the course of his five-game hitting streak, but he'll take a seat Saturday, allowing Jerar Encarnacion to serve as San Francisco's DH and bat fifth.

Yastrzemski isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

After recording two hits in five at-bats during Friday's series opener, Yastrzemski will take a seat for San Francisco's penultimate game of the season. While he rests, Mark Canha, Grant McCray and Heliot Ramos will start across the outfield.

Wisely isn't in the Giants' lineup Saturday versus St. Louis, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Wisely will get a chance to catch his breath Saturday after making three consecutive starts at second base. Casey Schmitt will fill in at the keystone and bat eighth in Wisely's stead.

Arenado isn't in the Cardinals' lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Arenado has gone 9-for-25 with two RBI and three runs scored during his six-game hitting streak, but he'll take a seat Saturday for the second time in St. Louis' last three games. Thomas Saggese will get an opportunity to start at third base while batting seventh.

Hays isn't in Philadelphia's lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals due to back soreness, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The Phillies' training staff is still in the process of evaluating Hays, but his back will cause him to miss at least Saturday's game. While Hays rests, Weston Wilson will step in as the left fielder and bat eighth.
