Machado is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Machado will sit for the regular-season finale after going 1-for-10 with one RBI across the first two games of the series against Arizona. Unless he comes in to pinch hit, Machado will end the regular season having slashed .275/.325/.472 with 11 stolen bases, 29 home runs and 105 RBI across 643 plate appearances. Tyler Wade will start at third base Sunday and bat eighth.

Profar is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Diamondbacks.

Profar will begin the Padres' regular-season finale on the bench after going 1-for-8 with two runs scored over the first two games of the series. Unless he pinch hits Sunday, he'll end the 2024 regular season with a .280/.380/.459 slash line, 24 home runs and 85 RBIs (both career highs) across 668 plate appearances. David Peralta will start in left field and bat third.

Lux is not in Sunday's lineup against the Rockies.

Lux had started seven games in a row coming into this one, and his last absence was with a lefty on the hill for the opponent, so it's surprising to see him sitting Sunday against righty Ryan Feltner. Chris Taylor, who is hitting .471 over his last 17 at-bats, draws the start at the keystone.

Hoskins is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Hoskins will rest for the regular-season finale as Jake Bauers starts at first base and bats in the cleanup spot. Barring a pinch-hit appearance Sunday, Hoskins will end the 2024 regular season with a .214/.303/.419 slash line, 26 home runs and 82 RBI across 515 plate appearances.

Smith is not in Sunday's lineup against the Rockies.

Smith only got one start in the weekend series in Coors Field as the Dodgers look to keep him fresh for the postseason. Austin Barnes is starting behind the dish, batting ninth.
