The Padres reassigned Brooks to minor-league camp Monday.

Brooks made his MLB debut in his age-28 season in 2024, seeing action in 12 games with the Giants while posting a .361 OPS. The Giants outrighted him off the 40-man roster soon after his brief stint in the majors, and he finished the season at Triple-A Sacramento, where he slashed .302/.410/.453 across 407 plate appearances. After joining the Padres on a minor-league deal in November, Brooks will likely serve as organizational depth at Triple-A El Paso for most of the 2025 campaign.

The Padres reassigned Brosseau to minor-league camp Monday.

Brosseau is expected to serve as organizational infield depth at Triple-A El Paso during the 2025 season. The 30-year-old previously saw big-league action in five straight seasons with the Rays and Brewers from 2019 through 2023, but he spent the entire 2024 campaign at the Triple-A level. Between stops with the Royals' and Mets' top affiliates, Brosseau slashed .263/.356/.417 with 15 home runs in 102 games.

Castillo (adductor) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Castillo exited his first Cactus League appearance Feb. 22 with left adductor tightness and hasn't pitched since. He's ready to ramp up his throwing again but it's not clear when he might be available to pitch in a game. Castillo is in camp as a non-roster invitee, and the injury likely eliminated any chance he had to make the Opening Day roster.

Herrera is not expected to miss any time after exiting Sunday's contest against the Rangers with right wrist soreness, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Herrera is not in the Diamondbacks' lineup Monday, but he was simply not scheduled to play. The 28-year-old is competing to be the club's backup catcher behind Gabriel Moreno.

Graveman (back) will throw a live batting practice session Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Graveman was cleared to face hitters after throwing a 22-pitch bullpen session over the weekend. The veteran reliever is on the mend from a back injury and would appear close to making his Cactus League debut if he continues to progress. It's not yet clear whether he'll have time to be ready for Opening Day.

The Brewers reassigned Oliva to minor-league camp Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Oliva appeared in 26 games in the big leagues for the Pirates between the 2020 and 2021, but the once-promising outfield prospect looks to be little more than an organizational depth piece at this stage of his career. The 29-year-old outfielder will likely report to Triple-A Nashville or Double-A Biloxi to begin the 2025 campaign after failing to make the cut with Milwaukee. Oliva played exclusively at the Double-A level in 2024, slashing .294/.378/.463 with seven home runs and 36 stolen bases over 248 plate appearances with Seattle's affiliate in Arkansas.

Adams (wrist) will start at catcher and bat eighth in Monday's Grapefruit League contest versus the Marlins, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Adams missed a few days of action with a sore wrist as a result of a hit-by-pitch, but there was never any worry it could be a long-term issue. He's competing to be the Nationals' backup catcher behind Keibert Ruiz.

Pivetta tossed three scoreless innings in a Cactus League game against San Francisco on Sunday, allowing one hit and issuing one walk while striking out three batters.

Pivetta breezed through his second appearance this spring, giving up just one hit (a double by Willy Adames). The veteran righty has been impressive in his first two Cactus League starts, hurling 5.2 scoreless frames while posting a 7:2 K:BB. Pivetta is penciled in as the Padres' fourth starter after signing with the organization on four-year deal in mid-February.

The Diamondbacks optioned Tawa to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Tawa was added to the 40-man roster over the winter after slugging 31 home runs between Double-A Amarillo and Reno in 2024 and he will head back to Reno to begin the 2025 campaign. The 25-year-old can play all over the diamond, and his versatility should give him a chance to make his debut later this season.

The Diamondbacks optioned Mena to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Mena missed much of the 2024 season with a forearm injury, but he was healthy this spring and threw three scoreless innings during Cactus League play. However, the 22-year-old will head back to Reno for now and work to find the strike zone more often.
