  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Expected to miss one month

Hernandez (hamstring) said Saturday that he expects to return from the injured list in about a month, Jack Harris of the California Post reports. Hernandez was diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain Friday, and although that's a relatively mild strain, he will still spend far more than the minimum 10 days on the shelf. The 33-year-old noted that there's a chance he could return sooner, but he would rather take things slowly than rush back and risk his hamstring turning into a lingering problem.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Placed on IL

The Dodgers placed Hernandez on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left hamstring strain. Hernandez was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain earlier Friday, and manager Dave Roberts said that the 33-year-old outfielder doesn't have a timeline for his return. Alex Call will start in left field for the Dodgers on Friday but could split reps with Ryan Ward, who was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Has Grade 1 hamstring strain

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Friday that Hernandez was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and does not have a timeline for a return, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Hernandez is expected to go on the 10-day injured list after injuring his left hamstring during Wednesday's game against the Rockies. The Grade 1 diagnosis indicates that the strain isn't considered severe, but a lack of a recovery timeline is concerning for the veteran outfielder. With Enrique Hernandez (oblique) also sidelined, Alex Call and Ryan Ward are both candidates to see more reps in the outfield.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Ticketed for injured list

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed after Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Rockies that Hernandez (hamstring) will be placed on the injured list, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Hernandez went 0-for-1 at the dish before exiting in the second inning Wednesday due to the left hamstring strain. The 33-year-old will undergo an MRI on Thursday before a timeline for his return will be established, but the Dodgers are already planning on deactivating him ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Phillies. Hernandez will be the second position player that the Dodgers lost to injury during the three-game series with Colorado, as utility man Enrique Hernandez suffered a significant tear of his left oblique Tuesday that will likely keep him on the shelf for 6-to-8 weeks.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Exits with hamstring injury

Hernandez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rockies with a left hamstring strain. Hernandez was grabbing at his left hamstring after attempting to beat a throw to first base in the second inning, and he was replaced on defense at the start of the third. The severity of the outfielder's injury is still unknown, though a trip to the injured list could be on the table. Alex Call would be the favorite to start in left field if Hernandez needs to miss time.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Drives in six in win

Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk and six total RBI in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Brewers. Hernandez tied a career high with six RBI, giving the Dodgers the lead with a three-run blast in the fourth inning before adding three more on singles in the eighth and ninth. The 33-year-old has been scorching hot over his past 10 games, hitting safely in nine of them while tallying three homers, 14 RBI and nine runs scored. On the year, he's slashing .276/.349/.447 with seven long balls, 31 RBI, 28 runs scored and one steal across 192 plate appearances.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Ends homer drought

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-0 win over the Angels. Hernandez snapped a 23-game homerless drought with his long ball in the sixth inning. He hit a poor .229 with a .603 OPS over 23 games during the power outage, with just four of his 19 hits going for extra bases in that span. He has logged four multi-hit efforts over his last five games, so it looks like his bat is coming around. Hernandez is batting .269 with a .761 OPS, five homers, 20 RBI, 21 runs scored, seven doubles and a stolen base over 40 contests this season. He hasn't missed the 25-homer mark in a full-length season since 2018, but he'll have to pick up the pace if he's to get back to that level this year.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Receiving day off amid rough spell

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. According to Jack Harris of the California Post, manager Dave Roberts classified Hernandez's absence from Sunday's lineup as a rest day, and the skipper suggested that the outfielder could be in line for more planned days off as he aims to "work things out" during a rough stretch at the plate. Dating back to April 17, Hernandez is batting just .176 with one extra-base hit. Hernandez is maintaining a more palatable .238 average on the season, but he's supplemented it with a .365 slugging percentage, a career-low mark by 55 points.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Receiving breather Wednesday

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. Alex Call will get the nod in left field in the series finale while Hernandez sits in what appears to be a routine rest day for the 33-year-old. Hernandez had started in each of the last nine games, going 5-for-32 (.156 average) with zero home runs and a 5:8 BB:K over that stretch.

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports. Alex Call is receiving the start in center field Sunday, batting eighth.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Continues strong start to season

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a double in Saturday's 6-3 victory against the Rangers. Hernandez broke a 1-1 tie and gave Los Angeles a lead it would never lose with a three-run blast off Jack Leiter in the first inning. The slugger was in a mini three-game slump coming into Saturday, going 1-for-11 with four strikeouts over that span, but he's been very good overall at the outset of the campaign. Hernandez is slashing .306/.327/.531 with three home runs, 11 RBI. 10 runs and a stolen base through 13 games.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Stays hot with another homer

Hernandez went 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, a walk and an additional run scored in Monday's win over Toronto. Hernandez blasted his second homer of the season after also going deep Sunday against the Nationals, extending his hitting streak to six games in the process. The 33-year-old outfielder is showing no signs of slowing down in the early going, batting .353 with seven RBI, one double and one stolen base across his first 34 at-bats of the campaign.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Belts first homer of 2026

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in an 8-6 win against Washington on Sunday. Hernandez got the day off Saturday and responded with a big performance one day later. The veteran slugger notched his first long ball of the campaign in the ninth inning, extending the Dodgers' lead to two runs and giving closer Edwin Diaz a little more cushion. Though the long ball was just the second extra-base hit of the campaign for Hernandez, he's swung the bat well overall, slashing .345/.367/.483 through 30 plate appearances.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Swats fourth spring homer

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a home run, two total runs and three total RBI in Sunday's exhibition win over the Angels. Hernandez put the Dodgers on the board in the third inning with a solo shot to right-center field. He added a two-run single in the third. The veteran outfielder has swung a hot bat this spring, slashing .457/.490/.804 with four home runs (tied for most on the team), four doubles, 12 runs and a team-leading 20 RBI over 17 games. Hernandez said in mid-February that he played through a groin issue much of last season, which may have been a factor in his OPS dropping over 100 points (to .738) from the previous campaign. A healthy Hernandez could be in store for a rebound year, though he was still pretty productive during the 2025 regular season, recording 25 home runs, 89 RBI, 65 runs and five stolen bases over 134 contests.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Played through nagging groin issue

Hernandez admitted Tuesday that he played through a left groin injury for much of the 2025 season, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Hernandez missed just two weeks of action after straining his groin in early May, but he acknowledged he "wasn't moving the way I know I can move" for the remainder of the season. The veteran outfielder was slashing .306/.329/.582 with a 149 wRC+ when he was hurt and then hit only .225/.271/.408 with an 86 wRC+ the rest of the way, so it's fair to suggest the injury affected his performance. The 33-year-old Hernandez is fully healthy now in Dodgers camp and looking for a bounce-back 2026 campaign.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Crushes two homers against Reds

Hernandez went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four total RBI in Tuesday's win over the Reds in Game 1 of the National League Wild Card Series. Hernandez broke the game open for Los Angeles with a three-run homer off Hunter Greene in the third inning. Hernandez added another homer in the fifth before Shohei Ohtani hit his second long ball of the game in the sixth -- the two became the fifth pair of teammates to hit multiple home runs in a postseason game, per Sonja Chen of MLB.com. With 25 homers during the regular season, Hernandez has now reached that threshold in each of the last six full MLB campaigns.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Getting breather Saturday

Hernandez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Seattle. Hernandez extended his hitting streak to five games with a single Friday, and he'll receive a chance to catch his breath Saturday while Alex Call starts in right field and bats sixth.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Drives in three in loss

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a two-run triple in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. Hernandez had gone just 2-for-20 over his previous six games, and he was given Sunday off to reset before a team off day Monday. The outfielder responded well, opening the scoring with his solo shot in the second inning before plating two more runs in the sixth on his first triple of the year. He's at a .246/.285/.459 slash line with 25 homers, 88 RBI, 64 runs scored, five stolen bases and 28 doubles across 130 contests.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Plates three in win

Hernandez went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 13-7 win over the Giants. Hernandez had an RBI double in the third inning to get the Dodgers back within a run, and he put them ahead with a two-run double in the fifth inning that sparked a six-run frame. Over his last four games, he's gone 7-for-18 (.389) with five extra-base hits and six RBI. The outfielder looks to be back in a groove after a lackluster July and August. He's slashing .245/.281/.458 on the year while adding 24 home runs, 84 RBI, 59 runs scored, 27 doubles and five stolen bases across 122 contests.
