The Mets placed Montas (lat) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

The 32-year-old suffered a high-grade right lat strain early in spring training. A recent MRI showed significant healing, and Montas could be ready to begin a throwing program by early April.

The Mets placed Manaea (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Manaea injured his oblique in late February and began a throwing progression in mid-March. The Mets haven't provided an official timetable for his return, but he could be ready to make his season debut by late April.

The Mets placed McNeil (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

McNeil suffered a right oblique strain in mid-March and is set to miss the first couple weeks of the season. Brett Baty and Luisangel Acuna will handle second base for the Mets while McNeil is shelved.

The Mets placed Alvarez (hand) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Alvarez had the stitches removed from his surgically repaired left hand earlier this week and will begin strengthening exercises. He could be ready to make his season debut by the end of April if all goes well in his rehab.

The Diamondbacks placed Graveman on the 15-day injured list Thursday with mid-back tightness, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Graveman is slated to resume throwing off a mound next week, but he never made any spring training appearances so it's going to be a while before he returns. The reliever missed the entirety of the 2024 season following shoulder surgery.

The Diamondbacks placed Alexander on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right oblique strain, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Alexander suffered the injury in late February and only just resumed baseball activities last week. He isn't a given to join the major-league roster once he's physically ready to do so.

The Mets designated Canario for assignment Thursday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

The Mets acquired Canario this offseason in a trade with the Cubs, and the 24-year-old did a nice job in spring training, logging a 1.030 OPS over 43 plate appearances. He'll ultimately miss out on being part of New York's Opening Day roster, but his age and consistent success at the plate are sure to draw attention from other clubs on the waiver wire.

Capra will start at third base and bat eighth in Thursday's season opener versus the Yankees.

Capra emerged from spring training with a spot on the Opening Day roster after he turned in a 1.087 OPS with six home runs and two steals across 55 plate appearances in Cactus League play. Though he'll be included in the lineup for the opener, the right-handed-hitting Capra could end up serving as a short-side platoon mate for the lefty-hitting Oliver Dunn, who will take a seat Thursday while southpaw Carlos Rodon takes the hill for the Yankees. Capra will also provide the Brewers with some backup help at shortstop and second base.

The Brewers placed Ashby (oblique) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Ashby sustained a right oblique strain March 3 and wasn't able to bounce back from the injury as quickly as the Brewers had hoped, which will result in him opening the season on the shelf. The southpaw wasn't expected to resume his throwing program until this week, and since he's likely to be stretched out as a starter, he could be a month or longer away from being ready to return from the IL. Ashby has a minor-league option remaining, so the Brewers could send him to Triple-A Nashville if the big club doesn't have a spot for him in the rotation by the time he's activated.

Uribe won a spot on the Brewers' Opening Day roster and will serve a four-game suspension to begin the season.

MLB initially suspended Uribe for six games after he intentionally threw a pitch at Rays outfielder Jose Siri in an April 30, 2024 contest. The Brewers demoted Uribe to Triple-A Nashville immediately after he received the suspension, which was later downgraded to a four-game ban following a successful appeal. However, Uribe never served the suspension after he was diagnosed in June with a lateral meniscus tear in right knee, which required season-ending surgery. After returning healthy for spring training, Uribe secured his spot in the Milwaukee bullpen, but he'll have to wait until next week to make his 2025 debut while he serves the suspension.
