McLain went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Giants.

McLain put the Reds on the board with a homer in the third inning and then scored the tying run in the fifth. After missing the entire 2024 season due to injury, the 25-year-old looks healthy and could provide plenty of value hitting second in front of Elly De La Cruz most days.

Falter did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Marlins, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Verlander induced 10 swinging strikes on 83 pitches before departing in a 2-2 tie. The 42-year-old looked healthy after an encouraging spring, during which he posted a 3.43 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 21 innings. He lines up to make his Giants home debut next weekend against the Mariners.

The Marlins optioned Bellozo to Triple-A Jacksonville following Saturday's 5-4 extra innings win over the Pirates, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Bellozo started Saturday's contest and came away with a no-decision after allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four across 4.1 innings. Miami went through six relievers during the game, so Bellozo's move back to Triple-A will allow the Marlins to replenish their bullpen.

Lodolo (1-0) earned the win against the Giants on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks with one strikeout over six innings.

Lodolo allowed two early runs but rebounded to deliver a quality start, facing the minimum over his final three frames. While eight whiffs on 86 pitches is underwhelming, the southpaw boasts a career 10.7 K/9 over his first three seasons and should rack up more strikeouts moving forward. He's slated for a road matchup against the Brewers next week.

Cortes (0-1) took the loss Saturday, getting hammered for eight runs on six hits -- five of them home runs -- and five walks over two-plus innings in a 20-9 rout by the Yankees. He struck out two.

Dealt by New York to Milwaukee over the winter as part of the package for Devin Williams, Cortes saw his first three pitches leave the yard in his return to Yankee Stadium as Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge went back-to-back-to-back. The southpaw left the mound having thrown 33 of 64 pitches for strikes, and the five homers allowed were a career high -- he'd never been tagged for more than three in any of his 86 prior big-league starts. Cortes will try to shake off the brutal 2025 debut ahead of his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Reds.

Halvorsen was perfect Saturday, striking out one without allowing a baserunner to secure a four-out save against the Rays.

Halvorsen averaged 99 mph on both his fastball and sinker, needing just 14 pitches to secure the Rockies' first save opportunity of the season. The 25-year-old impressed late in 2024 with a 1.46 ERA in 12.1 innings and made a strong case for more save chances with his sharp 2025 debut.

Sosa went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a walk in Saturday's 11-6 win over Washington.

Sosa entered the lineup to bat ninth and fill in at shortstop for the injured Trea Turner (back) on Saturday, and he was one of six Phillies to register a multi-hit game. The severity of Turner's issue is unknown, but Sosa could be in line to handle extra at-bats for however long the former remains out of action.

Senzatela did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 win against the Rays, allowing nine hits and two walks without recording a strikeout over 4.1 scoreless innings.

Senzatela secured a rotation spot with an impressive 1.21 ERA and 0.90 WHIP over 22.1 spring innings but was lucky to get out of this contest unscathed. The 30-year-old generated just four whiffs on 78 pitches and benefited from outs at home plate in both the first and third innings. Things won't get easier next week as he lines up for a tough road matchup with the Phillies.

Machado was removed from Saturday's game against Atlanta due to right calf tightness, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Machado appeared to injure himself on a swing in the bottom of the fourth inning. He was able to finish the at-bat but limped off the field and was replaced by Jose Iglesias at third base for the top of the fifth. Machado will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, per Cassavell.
