Chourio went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and three strikeouts in Monday's 11-1 loss to Kansas City.

Chourio struck out in his first three plate appearances (two swinging), but he managed to help the Brewers avoid the shutout when his double in the seventh brought home Isaac Collins. Chourio logged a 21.1 percent strikeout rate across 573 plate appearances in 2024, but he's already been punched out 10 times across 19 plate appearances to start the year. He'll look to be be more effective with his at-bats Tuesday against Royals right-hander Michael Lorenzen.

Kelly is starting at catcher and will bat ninth Monday against the Athletics.

Kelly is in line for his second start behind the dish in four days after going 0-for-3 at the dish Friday against the Diamondbacks. He picked up his first hit of the season March 19 against the Dodgers during the Tokyo Series, also managing to draw a walk in the matchup.

Amaya isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics.

This marks Amaya's second game off of the young regular season after also sitting down for Friday's matchup against the Diamondbacks. Carson Kelly is starting behind the plate and will bat ninth in Amaya's absence.

Atlanta recalled Elder from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Atlanta placed Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move, and Elder will be in line to take his spot in the rotation beginning with Wednesday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic. Elder didn't make the Opening Day roster after a poor showing in spring training, which came after the 2023 All-Star turned in a 6.52 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 49.2 innings last season.

Atlanta placed Lopez on the 15-day injured list Monday with right shoulder inflammation.

Lopez's velocity was down throughout spring training, and while it ticked back up in his season debut against the Padres on Friday, he managed just one strikeout over five innings. The right-hander will go on the IL with an arm-related concern for the third time since last season's All-Star break. Bryce Elder was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to take Lopez's spot on the roster and will start in his place Wednesday versus the Dodgers. Lopez will be eligible for activation in mid-April, but his absence is likely to extend beyond that.

The Pirates acquired Canario from the Mets on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Canario is out of minor-league options, so he will join the Pirates' major-league roster. The 24-year-old looks to be in line for a reserve role in Pittsburgh, but he's a flier with some upside.

De La Cruz is starting in right field and batting seventh against the Dodgers on Monday.

De La Cruz came in as a pinch hitter twice during Atlanta's road series against San Diego. Monday will be his first start of the 2025 season, and he'll see everyday role in the outfield until Ronald Acuna (knee) comes back following Jurickson Profar's 80-game suspension by Major League Baseball for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy. De La Cruz split time with Atlanta and Miami across 149 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with a slash line of .233/.271/.384 with 21 home runs and 68 RBI in 621 plate appearances.

Freeman is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

It appears to be a routine day off for Freeman, who has homered in each of his last two contests. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at first base versus right-hander Grant Holmes.

Rodriguez (0-1) allowed four runs on six hits and one walk over four innings Monday, striking out three and taking the loss against the Royals.

Rodriguez got roughed up right out of the gate with three first-inning runs, and he gave up a fourth in the second frame when he gave up a solo home run to Maikel Garcia. Rodriguez was able to retire eight of the next 10 batters faced, but he wasn't able to get enough run support from the Brewers hitters to avoid the loss. He'll look to get off to a better start in his next outing, which is slated for this upcoming weekend against the Reds at home.

Major League Baseball suspended Profar for 80 games Monday for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Profar is in the first year of a three-year, $42 million contract he signed with Atlanta after a career-best 2024 season in which he slashed .280/.380/.459 with 24 home runs, 85 RBI and 10 stolen bases as a member of the Padres. He won't be eligible to return to action until late June, leaving fantasy managers with little choice but to drop him. Atlanta will attempt to get by with Jarred Kelenic, Bryan De La Cruz, Eli White and Stuart Fairchild on their outfield corners for now, although Alex Verdugo should arrive soon and Ronald Acuna (knee) is expected back from the injured list by early-to-mid-May.
