Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Diaz will get some rest for the day game after he went 0-for-7 while starting behind the dish in the first two contests of the series. Martin Maldonado will handle the catching duties for San Diego on Wednesday.

Adames will start at shortstop and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Astros, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After inking a $182 million deal in free agency this winter, Adames has quickly found a home in the No. 2 spot in the lineup, batting out of that spot in the order in each of the Giants' first six games. Though the Giants head into Wednesday's contest with a 4-1 record, Adames hasn't played a big role in the team's early success thus far; he's slashing just .158/.190/.211 with three RBI and one run.

Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said that Hill remains out of the lineup Wednesday against the Mets due to back tightness, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Hill started the first five games of the season but has now sat out two straight with an achy back. He will be available to pinch hit Wednesday and would seem to have a good chance to return to the lineup Friday in Atlanta following the Marlins' off day Thursday. The Nationals are listing Soroka (bicep) as their scheduled starter for Sunday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Soroka is scheduled to play catch Wednesday after exiting Monday's 5-2 loss to the Blue Jays due to a right bicep cramp. He'll still need to complete Wednesday's workout as well as throw a bullpen session without any setbacks, but if that happens as expected, he'll be ready to take the hill this weekend.

Koss went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Astros.

Koss drew the start at second base during his big-league debut. The 27-year-old reached first on a walk in the third frame and displayed his speed by scoring from first on a two-run double by Willy Adames. Koss is expected to operate as a utility infielder for the Giants this season, though he's a candidate to receive playing time in the outfield as well, per Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Beck is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia.

The Phillies are starting right-hander Zack Wheeler, so it's not a bad day for Beck to receive a day of rest. Mickey Moniak will start in left field and bat ninth for the Rockies.

The Dodgers transferred Hurt (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Esteury Ruiz, who was acquired via trade Wednesday. Hurt's move to the 60-day IL won't affect his timeline for his return, as he's working his way back from Tommy John surgery and won't be available until late this season even in a best-case scenario.

Giants manager Bob Melvin said that Schmitt will start at first base against left-handed pitcher Framber Valdez in Wednesday's game versus the Astros, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The 26-year-old Schmitt pinch hit for LaMonte Wade against lefty Steven Okert in the seventh inning of Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Astros. Schmitt remained in the game and played first base for the first time in his big-league career, though he went 0-for-2 with a strikeout. There's a good chance that Schmitt will receive more playing time at first base against lefties moving forward, and he's been taking grounders with Wade and Wilmer Flores to familiarize himself with the position.

Wade is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston.

Left-hander Framber Valdez will start for the Astros, so the lefty-hitting Wade will begin the series finale on the bench. Casey Schmitt will fill in at first base and bat fifth.

Lee is out of the lineup for Wednesday's tilt in Houston, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Lee will get his first day off of the season after reaching base eight times in his first five games. Luis Matos will start in center field and bat sixth Wednesday versus left-hander Framber Valdez.
