Rodriguez (0-2) took the loss Saturday against Cincinnati, allowing seven runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out two.

It was a brutal night for Rodriguez, who surrendered four home runs in the loss. Through two starts, the right-hander has given up 11 earned runs on 14 hits across nine innings. Rodriguez figures to head to the bullpen or the minors as soon as the Brewers can return any of their six starters that are currently on the injured list.

Singer (2-0) earned the win Saturday over the Brewers, allowing five runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out seven.

Singer held Milwaukee scoreless through three innings before coughing up five runs in his final two frames. However, the Reds' offense provided more than enough run support in an eventual 11-7 victory. The 28-year-old Singer has won his first two starts with Cincinnati, allowing three earned runs while striking out 15 through 12 innings. He's currently lined up to face the Pirates at home in his next outing.

Diaz (hamstring) may not be the closer immediately upon his return, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Diaz began a rehab assignment Friday and is nearing a return to the active roster. Despite some positive signs regarding Diaz's mechanics and command, pitching coach Derek Johnson said the team may prefer to put him in low-leverage appearances to ease him back into action. Johnson also stated that the decision would ultimately be up to manager Terry Francona, so there is no official word as to Diaz's role at this point.

Falter (0-1) took the loss against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts over four innings.

Falter entered the fifth inning with a 4-1 lead but was unable to record an out, ultimately surrendering six runs in the frame. Despite generating 14 swinging strikes on 88 pitches, the southpaw was tagged for two home runs by Trent Grisham. Falter will take an ugly 8.10 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 9:1 K:BB across 10 innings into a road matchup with the Reds next weekend.

Call went 2-for-2 with a walk, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Call delivered RBI singles in the first and fourth innings and also swiped his first bag of the season. The 30-year-old has gone 4-for-8 in three starts to open the year and is seeing inconsistent playing time as Washington's No. 4 outfielder.

Finnegan earned the save in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on one hit and one walk with no strikeouts in the ninth inning.

Finnegan entered with a 4-2 lead but yielded a run and managed only six strikes on 13 pitches. The game ended on a challenged caught-stealing call that was upheld after review, preserving the win. Despite the shaky outing, the 33-year-old has converted both of his save opportunities this season and has given up a run on two hits with a 2:3 K:BB over three innings.

Boyd (1-0) picked up the win Saturday as the Cubs cruised to a 7-1 victory over the Padres, allowing five hits and a walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Luis Arraez was the only San Diego hitter who was close to being a thorn in the southpaw's side, lacing a one-out double in the first inning and advancing to third base in the sixth on a double play after getting hit by a pitch to lead off the frame. Boyd left him stranded each time, however. He's now begun his Cubs tenure with 11 scoreless innings over two starts with a 10:4 K:BB, but Boyd will have a tough time keeping his ERA unblemished in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend against the Dodgers.

Rodriguez gave up three two-out runs in the first inning but settled in nicely from there, pounding the zone with 58 strikes on 90 pitches and racking up an impressive 12 punchouts. Though the results haven't quite clicked through his first two outings, the veteran southpaw looks healthy following an injury-plagued 2024 campaign. He'll carry a 6.10 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB over 10.1 innings into a home start against the Brewers next weekend.

Pivetta (1-1) took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks over three innings as the Padres were bounced 7-1 by the Cubs. He struck out four.

After a dazzling 2025 debut Sunday against Atlanta, Pivetta crashed back to earth in this one, tossing 44 of 76 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. The right-hander has never been known for his consistency and has never finished a season with an ERA below 4.00, so a quick correction shouldn't have been surprising. Pivetta will take a 2.70 ERA and 8:3 K:BB through 10 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Rockies.

Parker (2-0) earned the win against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and four walks with two strikeouts over six innings.

Parker tossed five scoreless frames before surrendering a run in his final inning, earning his second straight quality start despite some command issues. The southpaw needed 82 pitches to get through six innings and has now opened the season with wins over two high-powered lineups in the Diamondbacks and Phillies. He'll carry a 0.73 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 7:6 K:BB over 12.1 innings into a road start against the Marlins next weekend.
