Stephenson (oblique) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. He's gone a combined 1-for-6 with a double, an RBI and two strikeouts in two games.

Stephenson operated as the catcher in both contests and caught five innings in each. With a layoff of over a month, the Reds are unlikely to push the catcher too quickly through the rehab process.

Martinez (shoulder) returned to the mound in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Rays, striking out one during a clean ninth inning.

While it wasn't a save situation in a 5-5 game, fantasy managers should still be pleased to see the hard-throwing right-hander look sharp in his return to action. It was Martinez's first appearance since last Thursday due to right shoulder fatigue, and he should be ready to solely reclaim the closer's role for the time being in the absence of A.J. Puk (elbow). Through his first eight innings of the season, Martinez has converted both of his save opportunities while allowing just three hits, one walk and no runs en route to producing a pristine 11:1 K:BB.

Carroll went 2-for-5 with a two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Rays.

Carroll enjoyed his second two-homer game of the month and the sixth of his career Wednesday, opening the scoring with a solo shot in the first inning and launching a go-ahead two-run blast in the seventh. The star outfielder got off to a brutal start in 2024 on his way to an underwhelming .750 OPS, but he's looked every bit the part of a first-round fantasy asset in the early going of 2025. Through 114 plate appearances, Carroll is slashing .327/.404/.693 with nine round trippers, 22 RBI, 23 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Rodriguez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Rays after allowing four runs on six hits and one walk in 6.2 innings. He struck out five

It was a mixed bag by the left-hander, who matched a season high with four runs allowed but did turn in his longest outing of the year. Rodriguez has worked at least five frames in each of his first five starts of the campaign, submitting a strong 1.29 WHIP and 34:7 K:BB in spite of a 4.40 ERA through 28.2 innings. Although the quality of his pitching appears to be better than his ERA suggests, Rodriguez could have a hard time improving on those numbers in a tough spot at New York against the Mets for his next scheduled appearance.

Santana surrendered one hit and no walks while striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning to collect a save in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Angels.

Santana struck out Jo Adell on four pitches before allowing a double to Jorge Soler, but a groundout from Zach Neto followed by a Mike Trout flyout allowed the 29-year-old to pick up his third save of the year while preserving the shutout. Santana now owns a 1.59 ERA and 0.89 WHIP through 11.1 innings on the year and should continue to see regular save opportunities even though David Bednar is back with the Buccos.

Heaney (2-1) earned the win Wednesday against the Angels, allowing one hit and zero walks while striking out nine batters across six shutout innings.

Heaney's bid for a no-hitter was broken up by a Travis d'Arnaud double in the fifth inning, but the southpaw managed to close out the frame without allowing a run to score. Wednesday's performance gives Heaney 13.1 consecutive shutout frames and a 13:2 K:BB across his last two starts. He's due for a test during his next outing, however, which is tentatively scheduled to come at home against the Cubs, who boast the highest OPS (.806) of any team in the majors.

Turang went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.

After going 4-for-4 in Tuesday's win over San Francisco, Turang piled up three more knocks Wednesday for his fourth game of the year with at least a trio of hits. The 25-year-old infielder is batting a scalding .350 with three home runs, 14 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 100 at-bats. Among qualifiers, Turang ranks fifth in the major leagues in batting average thus far.

Doval picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Brewers after recording two outs in the ninth inning, striking out one.

Ryan Walker was able to log just one out before being pulled from a non-save situation, allowing two runs on three hits to make it a 4-2 game. That created a save situation for Doval, who fired each of his five pitches for strikes to tally his fourth save of the year. Both Walker and Doval have received six save chances apiece to begin the campaign, so this hierarchy atop San Francisco's bullpen has been more of a committee than expected so far. Doval has a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB while converting four of his six save chances over 11 innings.

Hodge struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning to collect his first save of the season in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Dodgers.

With Ryan Pressly unavailable due to knee problems, manager Craig Counsell turned to Hodge to preserve a one-run lead in the ninth inning for his first save of the year. The 24-year-old responded by retiring all three batters he faced on 14 pitches, striking out Shohei Ohtani in the process. Since allowing six earned runs in two-thirds of an inning against Arizona on Friday, Hodge has fired three shutout frames, lowering his ERA from 7.45 to 5.11.

Webb (3-1) earned the win Wednesday against the Brewers after allowing six hits and three walks in 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Other than escaping a bases-loaded jam in the second inning, Webb didn't face very much trouble from Milwaukee. He scattered six singles and threw a season-high 106 pitches, also tossing at least six innings for the fourth time in his last five starts. The star right-hander holds a sparkling 1.80 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 33:4 K:BB over 25 frames in the month of April, but he'll encounter a tough test in his next scheduled outing on the road against the Padres.
