Kiner-Falefa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Manager Derek Shelton will give Kiner-Falefa a breather as the Pirates wrap up their series with the Cardinals with a day game after a night game. The recently promoted Tsung-Che Cheng will make his MLB debut Wednesday, starting at shortstop in Kiner-Falefa's stead and batting ninth.

Winker is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Marlins.

This marks Winker's second straight absence from lineup against a right-handed pitcher. Starling Marte reached base three times and drove in two runs Tuesday and will be rewarded with another start at designated hitter in Wednesday's series finale.

Made rolled his ankle Friday while playing for Single-A Carolina, but he may not have to go on the injured list, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Carolina was cautious and held Made out of action over the weekend, but it's unclear if Made will be ready to return to the lineup within the next few days. Made, who turns 18 years old in May, is coming off one of the best Dominican Summer League campaigns in history and has a chance to be a fast rising superstar shortstop or third baseman.

Torrens (forearm) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Torrens hasn't started a game since Friday due to a right forearm bruise. An MRI Tuesday came back negative, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, and the Mets have no plans at this point to place him on the 10-day injured list, so Torrens will aim to return to action Friday versus the Athletics following the Mets' team off day Thursday. Hayden Senger will catch and bat ninth Wednesday.

Hill is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mets.

Hill homered and had a fantastic catch in center field in Tuesday's loss, but he'll get a breather Wednesday. Dane Myers will cover center field and bat fifth.

Lopez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Mets.

It's the first day off this season for Lopez, who is in a mini 1-for-15 slump at the dish. Javier Sanoja will start at second base and bat ninth as the Marlins look to avoid the sweep.

Machado went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the A's.

The third baseman took Jeffrey Springs deep in the first inning -- Machado's first long ball of the year. He's had a strong start to the campaign overall, slashing .319/.360/.489 through 12 games with five doubles, five RBI, nine runs and five steals on five attempts.

Cease (1-1) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering nine runs on nine hits and three walks over four innings as the Padres were downed 10-4 by the A's. He struck out four.

The nine runs represented a career-worst performance for Cease, with six of them coming in the first inning as the A's sent 10 men to the plate. The right-hander has failed to last five innings in two of his first three starts this season, leaving him saddled with a 7.98 ERA through 14.2 frames despite an 18:6 K:BB. Cease will try to chip away at his ratios in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Cubs.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that there's a "pretty good chance" Priester will make his team debut Thursday in Colorado, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports.

The Brewers acquired Priester via trade from the Red Sox on Monday and officially added him to their active roster Tuesday. It's not an ideal environment for Priester's first start with his new club, so fantasy managers would be wise to keep the right-hander on their bench for now. Priester would tentatively be set up for two starts next week at home against the Tigers and Athletics. The 24-year-old yielded two runs with a 6:0 K:BB over four innings in his first start with Triple-A Worcester this season and held a 4.71 ERA in 11 appearances between the Red Sox and Pirates in 2024.

Roupp (0-1) took the loss Tuesday as the Giants were downed 1-0 by the Reds, allowing one run on seven hits over six innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

it was the first career quality start for the 26-year-old right-hander, who tossed 51 of 80 pitches for strikes before begin lifted from his pitchers' duel with Nick Lodolo. Roupp sports a 3.60 ERA and 12:4 K:BB through 10 innings over his first two outings of the season, but he lines up for a tough test his next time out, on the road early next week in Philadelphia.
