Mantiply was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Mantiply has struggled mightily in the majors this season, allowing multiple earned runs in half of his 10 appearances. He'll head back to Reno for the second time and seek to regain the solid form he's showcased for the last few campaigns.

Abrams went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a stolen base during Thursday's 5-2 loss to Atlanta.

Abrams notched his sixth home run of the season, tagging left-handed reliever Dylan Lee for a solo shot in the eighth frame. He's been red hot at the plate recently, going 15-for-34 (.441) with two home runs, two doubles and two stolen bases over his last eight appearances. He has a .927 OPS on the season.

Smith-Shawver (3-2) picked up the win Thursday against the Nationals, allowing one unearned run on two hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out six.

The only damage against Smith-Shawver came in the sixth inning, when a two-out fielding error by Austin Riley allowed CJ Abrams to score from second base. It was another excellent start from the 22-year-old, who's allowed just one earned run in his last 19.2 innings. On the year, Smith-Shawver has a 2.33 ERA and a 40:17 K:BB across 38.2 innings. He's in line to make his next start Thursday for a road matchup against Washington.

Williams (2-5) took the loss Thursday against Atlanta, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and no walks across 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Williams allowed one unearned run on two hits through four innings before having a nightmare fifth frame. He hit Ozzie Albies with a pitch to begin the inning and later gave up three straight singles before being pulled. Williams has now allowed at least four runs in four consecutive starts, and he owns a 6.86 ERA and a 17:5 K:BB across 21 innings during that stretch. He's tentatively scheduled to pitch again Wednesday in a rematch with Atlanta.

Manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Treinen (forearm) will begin playing catch within the next few days, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Treinen is pain free and is on the cusp of starting up his throwing program. He'll still have a lengthy ramp-up period, but he may be able to return in mid-June, when he is first eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list.

Glasnow (shoulder) threw from flat ground Thursday, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Glasnow resumed throwing Sunday, and this marked his second session. Manager Dave Roberts said that Glasnow's recovery is going as planned but provided no timeline for him to begin throwing off a mound.

The Dodgers' rotation has been consistently shuffled early this season, and that continued with Roki Sasaki (shoulder) being placed on the injured list this week and Clayton Kershaw (toe) nearing activation. Those moves would still leave them one starter short, and Knack appears to be the preferred option over the likes of Ben Casparius and Matt Sauer. Knack has a 5.89 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with a more impressive 20:8 K:BB across 18.1 innings this season.

Rushing is making his MLB debut Thursday night against the Athletics, starting at catcher and batting seventh.

With Will Smith getting to rest Thursday, Rushing will get his first major-league action. Rushing was called up Wednesday with Austin Barnes being designated for assignment. While Rushing will serve as the backup catcher, he may also find some time at first base or left field. The left-handed batter is set to get his first plate appearances against A's right-hander Osvaldo Bido.

Smith isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Dalton Rushing, one of the Dodgers' top prospects, is making his MLB debut Thursday behind the plate and batting seventh. Smith will get to rest with his typical weekly game off, which was previously alleviated by Austin Barnes.

Mey struck out two and didn't allow a baserunner in a scoreless inning during Thursday's 7-1 win against the White Sox.

Mey has allowed just one run with an 11:3 K:BB across 7.1 innings since being promoted May 1. The 23-year-old righty has recorded one hold but has mostly pitched in lower-leverage spots so far, though he could work his way into the high-leverage mix if he can continue delivering strong performances. Journeyman Emilio Pagan has taken over the closer role with Alexis Diaz demoted to Triple-A, and if Pagan stumbles, Mey could have an outside shot at seeing save chances later in the season.
