The Reds optioned Hinds to Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

While he popped two home runs during his time with the big club, Hinds went just 3-for-19 with 10 strikeouts. The Reds are replacing him with a more versatile player in Garrett Hampson.

The Reds activated Greene (groin) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Greene will make his return to the Cincinnati rotation with a start against the Cubs after missing the past two-plus weeks with a Grade 1 right groin strain. The right-hander is skipping a rehab assignment, so his workload Friday might be limited. Through 45.2 innings over eight starts this season, Greene sports a 2.36 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 61:8 K:BB.

The Reds signed Hampson to a one-year contract Friday.

Hampson was cut loose by the Diamondbacks earlier this week after slashing only .167/.359/.167 over 41 plate appearances, but he has quickly landed on his feet with a new big-league contract. The 30-year-old will serve in a utility role for Cincinnati.

Lowder (forearm) was removed from a rehab start with Triple-A Louisville in the second inning Thursday with an apparent left side injury, Dusty Baker of WAVE 3 News reports.

Lowder threw a scoreless first inning before having to exit after throwing just one pitch in the second. The righty was making his second rehab start with Louisville and fourth rehab start in total as he comes back from a right forearm strain. Lowder had been roughed up for 11 runs (10 earned) over 7.1 innings on the rehab assignment prior to this setback.

Atlanta designated Arcia for assignment Friday.

The 30-year-old was Atlanta's Opening Day shortstop but quickly lost out on playing time to Nick Allen and has just 32 plate appearances this year. Arcia was an All-Star in 2023 but took a major step back last season with a .218/.271/.354 slash line in 157 regular-season games.

Atlanta activated Acuna (knee) from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Acuna is ready for his long-awaited 2025 debut following a long road back from ACL surgery on his left knee. The 27-year-old slashed .417/.632/.833 with one home run and a 7:2 BB:K in five rehab games with Triple-A Gwinnett to convince Atlanta he was ready to roll. Acuna will likely see some extra days off initially as the club eases him back into action, and he has indicated previously that he does not intend to be as aggressive on the basepaths as he was before the surgery -- he didn't even attempt a stolen base during his rehab stint, after going 16-for-19 on steals over 49 games in 2024 prior to getting injured.

Estrada (1-3) was charged with the loss and a blown save Thursday against Toronto, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk while retiring one batter in the 11th inning.

Estrada didn't get the Padres' first save opportunity of the game -- that went to closer Robert Suarez, who allowed the Blue Jays' automatic runner to score in the bottom of the 10th to tie the game. After San Diego posted a run in the 11th, Estrada came in and gave up a game-tying triple on his second pitch, before Nathan Lukes singled home the winning run for Toronto. Estrada has just one save in his career, but he's been effective in a high-leverage role for the Padres as he ranks second on the team with nine holds while compiling a 2.86 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 33:6 K:BB over 22 frames on the season.

The Nationals selected Lile's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Friday.

Lile began the season at Double-A Harrisburg before being promoted to Rochester in late April. Between the two stops, the 22-year-old has slashed .337/.383/.509 with three long balls and nine stolen bases over 39 contests. Lile should see some starts in the outfield against righties while Dylan Crews (oblique) and Jacob Young (shoulder) are out. Robert Hassell and Alex Call will also be in the mix for playing time in those two spots.

The Nationals placed Young on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left shoulder AC joint sprain.

Young initially suffered the injury when he collided with the outfield wall Saturday and was unable to make the necessary improvement to avoid a stint on the IL. He will be eligible for activation May 30, but it's the type of injury that could lead to longer than a minimum absence. Robert Hassell, Alex Call and Daylen Lile will help fill the void in the Nationals' outfield created by the absences of Young and Dylan Crews (oblique).

Garcia went 0-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's extra-inning win over Atlanta.

The second baseman has gone 4-for-20 with a homer, a steal and six RBI in five games since rejoining the Nationals following a stint on the paternity list. Garcia's .222/.271/.346 slash line on the season is a far cry from the .282/.318/.444 line he delivered in a breakout 2024, but he's maintained some fantasy value with four homers, seven stolen bases, 19 RBI and 20 runs in 43 contests.
