Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed after Monday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Mets that Betts (toe) is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

A fracture on the tip of a toe on his left foot has kept Betts from playing since last Wednesday, but he demonstrated notable progress Monday, despite being held out of the lineup for a fourth game in a row. He was able to take part in pregame fielding and baserunning drills and was reportedly available to pinch hit if needed, but the Dodgers ultimately stayed away from him. Assuming Betts isn't dealing with any unexpected soreness when he reports to Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, he should step back into his usual roles at shortstop and as the team's No. 2 hitter.

The Mets are expected to recall Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.

Mauricio's imminent promotion seems to suggest that Mark Vientos is headed to the 10-day injured list after exiting Monday's 4-3 win with a hamstring injury. The Mets have been careful with Mauricio's workload at Syracuse this season as he gets eased back in following multiple knee surgeries, but the 24-year-old has been productive at Triple-A, going 17-for-33 (.515 average) with three home runs and four stolen bases. Mauricio has yet to play more than two days in a row this season, and it's unlikely he'll see consistent at-bats right away with the Mets.

Friedl went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Brewers.

Friedl got the Reds going early, leading off the bottom of the first inning with a double and scoring on a single. He's been rolling the last two weeks with multiple hits in 10 of the last 13 games. Friedl is batting .426 with six walks, five extra-base hits, three RBI, one steal and 11 runs during that stretch.

Collier (thumb) is batting .394/.524/.636 over 42 plate appearances across 10 rehab games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Collier began the assignment May 19 and will eventually return to action for High-A Dayton after having spent all season on the injured list while recovering from left thumb surgery. He's played mostly at first base (seven games) during his rehab assignment, with one start coming at third base and two at designated hitter. Collier spent most of his first three seasons of professional ball at third base, but the organization may be preparing him to move across the diamond in 2025.

Candelario (back) started at third base and went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double and an RBI in a rehab game with the ACL Reds on Monday.

Candelario opened a rehab assignment and played five innings in the field. He's expected to remain with the ACL Reds for at least one more game before moving to Triple-A Louisville. The corner infielder/DH is not expected to step into a starting role upon his return, but that could change depending on injuries. A spot at third base could be waiting until Noelvi Marte (oblique) is ready to come off the IL.

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a home run and a sacrifice fly Monday in an extra-inning loss to the Mets.

The Dodgers were held scoreless through six frames before Ohtani launched a solo shot to right field in the seventh. The star slugger added a sacrifice fly in the ninth off Mets closer Edwin Diaz to send the game to an extra frame. Ohtani has recently ramped up his preparation as a pitcher as he gets closer to making his Dodgers debut on the mound, but that work hasn't impacted his hitting -- he's belted six long balls among his eight total hits over his past eight games.

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in a 4-2 extra-inning win against the Dodgers on Monday.

Lindor slugged Dustin May's second pitch the game 417 feet to right field for a leadoff homer. He added a run-scoring single in the 10th inning to provide what ended up being the winning run. Lindor also swiped his 11th bag in the contest, marking the third time this season he's homered and stolen a base in the same game. With 14 long balls and 11 thefts on the campaign, Lindor is one of 12 major-leaguers to reach double digits in both categories so far.

May allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Monday.

May gave up a homer to Francisco Lindor on his second pitch of the game but sailed pretty smoothly thereafter, allowing just one additional run over his six frames. The right-hander tossed an efficient 88 pitches (58 strikes) but induced just five whiffs, though he did manage a respectable five punchouts. May has recorded a quality start in three of his past five outings and has a 3.77 ERA during that span. He's lined up to make his next start on the road against St. Louis.

Butto earned a save against the Dodgers on Monday, retiring both batters he faced in the 10th inning.

Mets closer Edwin Diaz blew a save in the ninth frame, so New York needed to go to a different reliever after scoring twice in the top of the 10th. Manager Carlos Mendoza initially called upon Jose Castillo, but he retired just one batter while allowing two Dodgers to reach base. Mendoza then turned to Butto, who got pinch hitter Will Smith to fly out before retiring Tommy Edman on a groundout with the tying run on third base. Butto came into Monday having given up four runs over four innings across his previous four outings, and he's not a threat to Diaz's role as closer, especially since the latter has been great this season -- Monday marked Diaz's first blown save of the campaign.

Diaz (3-0) blew a save but earned the win over the Dodgers on Monday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two batters over one inning.

Diaz came into Monday 13-for-13 in save opportunities on the season, but he wasn't able to hold a 2-1 Mets lead in the ninth inning. The right-hander gave up the tying run on a Shohei Ohtani sacrifice fly after two of the first three batters he faced reached base on singles, though Diaz was able to strike out Teoscar Hernandez with the winning run on second base. The closer then earned the victory as a result of the Mets scoring twice in the 10th inning. The run allowed by Diaz was the first earned run charged to him over his past 14 outings, and he still holds an excellent 2.49 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB through 25.1 innings this season.
