Muncy is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

The Dodgers and Mets are wrapping up their series with a day game after a night game, and southpaw David Peterson is on the hill for New York, so the left-handed-hitting Muncy will get the afternoon off. Miguel Rojas will check in at third base in place of Muncy, who went 7-for-19 with five home runs, three walks, 11 RBI and six runs while starting in each of the past five contests.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.

Diaz will rest for Thursday's day game after he went 1-for-4 while catching eight innings of Wednesday's 6-5 loss. Martin Maldonado will spell Diaz behind the plate in the series finale.

Lindor is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers.

As Anthony DiComo of MLB.com notes, Lindor looked to be in considerable pain after being hit in the foot by a pitch in Wednesday's 6-1 win in the top of the first inning, but he ended up staying in the game while finishing the night 0-for-4 with a run. The Mets haven't indicated that Lindor is still hurting a day later, but the veteran shortstop will nonetheless receive just his second day off of the season in any case. Luisangel Acuna will fill in for Lindor at shortstop.

The Rockies optioned Chivilli to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Chivilli had just been recalled Tuesday and did not make an appearance during his most recent stint in the majors. The Rockies will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's game versus the Mets.

The Phillies expect Wheeler (personal) to make his return to the rotation next week, likely during the team's three-game home series versus the Cubs that begins Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Wheeler was initially lined up to make his 13th start of the season this past Tuesday in Toronto, but he was excused from making the trip to Canada due the forthcoming birth of his child. The Phillies officially placed Wheeler on the paternity list Wednesday, and though he'll have to be activated Saturday after missing the maximum three games, the right-hander won't be asked to pitch during this weekend's series in Pittsburgh. To accommodate for Wheeler's absence from the pitching schedule, the Phillies will go with a bullpen game Friday, while Ranger Suarez and Cristopher Sanchez start the final two contests of the series versus the Pirates.

Bogaerts (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against San Francisco.

Bogaerts exited Wednesday's 6-5 loss early after experiencing soreness in his left shoulder -- the same one he fractured last season. Though he'll stay on the bench for Thursday's afternoon contest, the Padres appear to be viewing Bogaerts as day-to-day heading into this weekend's series in Milwaukee. Jose Iglesias will fill in as San Diego's shortstop Thursday and could continue to start if Bogaerts misses any additional games.

Bailey is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Bailey started at catcher for each of the previous four contests, so he'll get some rest for Thursday's day game. Andrew Knizner will draw his first start behind the plate for the Giants since being called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

Johnson will start in right field and bat leadoff in Thursday's game versus the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Johnson will get a second start in a row in right field after going 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base out of the No. 7 spot in the lineup Wednesday. He's been elevated to the leadoff role Thursday, and while it seems unlikely that he'll stick at the top of the batting order, Johnson could continue to draw starts in right field at the expense of the slumping Mike Yastrzemski.

Yastrzemski is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The struggling Yastrzemski will stay on the bench for the third game in a row, with the Giants facing right-handed starting pitchers in all three of those contests. Daniel Johnson will get a second straight start in right field Thursday after Jerar Encarnacion played the position Tuesday. Yastrzemski enters play Thursday in a 3-for-41 freefall at the plate.

Flores is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Flores had a three-home run game back on May 16, but he hasn't gone deep since then while producing a .552 OPS. He'll get a breather for Thursday's day game in order to regroup. The Giants will go with Heliot Ramos at designated hitter and Jerar Encarnacion in left field Thursday.
