Garcia is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

The lefty-hitting Garcia will dodge a matchup with southpaw Patrick Corbin. In his stead, Nasim Nunez will bat ninth and play second base.

The Phillies optioned Johnson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Johnson made his 2025 MLB debut Thursday, allowing one run over two innings. With the Phillies having a bullpen game Friday against Pittsburgh, they'll add a fresh arm to the bullpen in Alan Rangel. Johnson has a 4.91 ERA over 33 innings with Lehigh Valley this season.

The Phillies recalled Rangel from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Rangel will provide some immediate help to the Phillies' bullpen ahead of Friday's bullpen game against the Pirates. He'll be making his MLB debut if he gets into a game. The 27-year-old has a 5.02 ERA in 57.1 innings spanning 12 starts for Lehigh Valley this season. Seth Johnson was optioned in a corresponding move.

Lux is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Lux will take a seat Friday against southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez. Garrett Hampson will play second base while Spencer Steer patrols left field.

The Nationals optioned Lile to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Lile had been a near-everyday player for the Nationals since being called up May 23, but now that Jacob Young (shoulder) is off the injured list, Lile will return to Triple-A. In 11 games with the Nationals, the 22-year-old went 6-for-31 (.194) with three doubles and a triple.

The Nationals activated Young (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Young has been on the shelf since May 23 due to a left shoulder AC joint sprain, but he's healthy enough to rejoin the active roster. Young had a brief rehab stint with Double-A Harrisburg, going 3-for-11 with two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base over three games. Daylen Lile was optioned to Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

The Reds activated Encarnacion-Strand (back) from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Encarnacion-Strand has been on the shelf since April 17 due to lower-back inflammation, but after a lengthy rehab assignment, he's been cleared to rejoin the Reds. Prior to sustaining the injury, Encarnacion-Strand slashed .158/.183/.298 with two home runs in 60 plate appearances. However, he went 12-for-37 (.324) with a pair of homers over 10 games with Triple-A Louisville during his rehab stint.

The Reds designated Wynns for assignment Friday.

Wynns had been serving as a depth piece since Tyler Stephenson was activated from the injured list May 2, and he hasn't had multiple at-bats in a game since May 6. He'll yield his spot on the active roster to Christian Encarnacion-Strand (back), who's being activated from 10-day injured list.

Edwards was ejected from Friday's game against the Rays after arguing a runner interference call in the third inning, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.

Edwards collided with Jonathan Aranda at first base trying to beat out a bunt and was thrown out of the game for his reaction to somewhat questionably being called for interference. Edwards finishes the game 0-for-2. Javier Sanoja will take over for Edwards at second base.

The Dodgers optioned Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

Knack had taken six consecutive turns through the Dodgers rotation, posting a 4.50 ERA and a 28:12 K:BB over 30 innings, but he'll yield his spot to Justin Wrobleski. In four appearances with Oklahoma City this season, Knack logged a 3.98 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP across 20.1 innings.
