Mets' Max Kranick: Brought up to active roster

The Mets recalled Kranick from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

Kranick made the Opening Day roster but was sent down to Syracuse on June 3 after logging a 3.51 ERA across 33.1 innings for the Mets. The 27-year-old returns to the big-league club Friday, slotting into a middle-relief role as he takes the roster spot of Kodai Senga (hamstring).

  • Kodai Senga SP | NYM

Mets' Kodai Senga: IL move official

The Mets placed Senga (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list Friday.

Senga left his start Thursday in the sixth inning after straining his right hamstring. Reliever Max Kranick was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move. Senga will be eligible to return June 28, but it's unclear if he'll need more than the minimum 15 days to recover.

  • Carson Kelly C | CHC

    Cubs' Carson Kelly: Idle Friday

Kelly is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Pittsburgh.

Kelly has been slumping at the plate recently, going 4-for-37 (.108) with three runs scored over his last 11 games. He'll get a day off Friday against Paul Skenes and the Pirates, allowing for Reese McGuire to draw a start behind the dish.

  • Daz Cameron RF | MIL

Brewers' Daz Cameron: Lands on paternity list

The Brewers placed Cameron on the paternity list Friday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Cameron will step away from the team for a few days to be with his growing family. Drew Avans was called up from Triple-A Nashville to bolster Milwaukee's outfield for this weekend's series versus St. Louis.

  • Drew Avans OF | COL

Brewers' Drew Avans: Joins Brewers' roster

The Brewers recalled Avans from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Avans was claimed off waivers this past weekend and is now up to take the roster spot vacated by Daz Cameron (personal). He could be with the big club only while Cameron is on paternity leave.

  • Grant Anderson RP | MIL

Brewers' Grant Anderson: Recalled from Triple-A

The Brewers recalled Anderson from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Anderson was sent down earlier this week after allowing five runs over his last three appearances, but he's back to provide right-handed relief depth. The Brewers will likely use him in low-leverage situations.

  • Brent Suter RP | LAA

Reds' Brent Suter: Back from bereavement list

The Reds activated Suter from the bereavement list Friday.

Suter missed the final two games of the Reds' series in Cleveland but is back for the start of their set in Detroit. The lefty holds a 2.27 ERA and 20:5 K:BB over 31.2 innings this season.

  • James Wood RF | WAS

Nationals' James Wood: Bangs out three hits in loss

Wood went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

All three hits were singles, but that was a team-wide problem as none of the Nationals' seven knocks on the day went for extra bases. Wood has shaken off a mini-slump to begin June by racking up six hits in the last three games, pushing his slash line on the season back up to .281/.374/.531 with 16 homers, nine steals, 39 runs and 45 RBI in 68 contests.

  • Phillies' Justin Crawford: Dealing with quad injury

Crawford hasn't played for Triple-A Lehigh Valley since June 5 due to a quad injury, Corey Nidoh of Philly Sports Network reports.

He reportedly participated in pregame activities Tuesday but has missed six games in a row with the injury without having been placed on the 7-day injured list. Crawford, 21, is one of the youngest players at Triple-A and is slashing .349/.416/.448 with one home run and 23 steals in 52 games. He could produce a high average and a plethora of steals if given a shot in the big leagues later this summer, but his extreme groundball (63.6 GB%) and opposite-field (43.8 Oppo%) tendencies will prevent him from hitting for notable power.

  • Seaver King SS | WAS

Nationals' Seaver King: Finding footing at Double-A

King has gone 9-for-38 (.237) with only one extra-base hit (a home run) in nine games since getting a promotion to Double-A Harrisburg.

Prior to getting bumped up to Harrisburg, the 10th overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft had been slashing .329/.351/.452 over his last 18 games for High-A Wilmington with an 11.4 percent strikeout rate, a massive improvement on the 28.7 percent K rate he posted in his first 27 contests this season. King's 19.5 percent rate so far at Double-A is a step back, but it's still a solid number for a prospect whose primary selling points as a dynasty asset are his hit tool, speed and potential defensive versatility.
