  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Returning to Triple-A

Atlanta optioned Stratton to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. Stratton's stay in the big leagues lasted just two days, with the reliever making his lone appearance Saturday, when he tossed a scoreless inning in Atlanta's 9-1 win over Colorado. He'll cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to right-hander Spencer Strider (oblique), who was reinstated from the injured list ahead of his scheduled start in Sunday's series finale in Colorado.

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Recalled from Triple-A

Atlanta recalled Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday. Stratton holds a 4.50 ERA and 18:9 K:BB over 12 innings out of the Gwinnett bullpen this season. The 29-year-old will give Atlanta a fresh bullpen arm as it heads into a weekend series in Colorado.

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Sent to Triple-A

Atlanta optioned Stratton to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. The right-hander finished 2025 in the big-league bullpen but is set to open the 2026 campaign back in the minors. Stratton made 15 appearances in the big leagues between Pittsburgh and Atlanta last year, posting a 5.21 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB over 19 innings.

Atlanta recalled Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday. Stratton will fill the spot of Daysbel Hernandez (shoulder) on the active roster. In 9.2 innings of relief with Atlanta, Stratton has a 1.86 ERA and a 7:2 K:BB. He's posted a 1.59 ERA in 11.1 innings with Gwinnett as well.

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Sent down to minors

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Rejoins big club

Atlanta recalled Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. The veteran right-hander was optioned to Gwinnett on Tuesday but will quickly return to Atlanta with Aaron Bummer (shoulder) landing on the injured list. Stratton has given up seven earned runs over 8.2 innings in the majors this year and should fill a low-leverage relief role.

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Dispatched to Gwinnett

Atlanta optioned Stratton to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. Stratton has tossed six scoreless innings during his time with Atlanta -- which includes a three-inning save in his last appearance -- but will nonetheless head back to the minors to make room for another reliever.

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Records three-inning save

Stratton picked up a save against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three hits and striking out three batters over three scoreless innings. Two days after he was recalled from Triple-A, Stratton was given the ball in the seventh frame after Atlanta rolled to a 10-1 lead. Rather than deploy multiple relievers the rest of the way, manager Brian Snitker let Stratton finish the contest, which he did in fine form, allowing just three baserunners (all on singles). The save was the right-hander's second of his career. There probably won't be many (if any) more opportunities for Stratton to build upon that number this year, as he's not a high-leverage part of Atlanta's bullpen.

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Sent back to Triple-A

Atlanta optioned Stratton to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday. Stratton was up with Atlanta for one day, serving as the big club's 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader with Miami. The reliever ended up going unused for both contests of the twin bill.

  • Braves' Hunter Stratton: Joins big-league bullpen

Atlanta recalled Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday. Stratton was acquired from the Pirates in a trade earlier this month and will be making his debut for Atlanta when he gets into a game. The righty has permitted seven earned runs in 2.2 innings at the major-league level in 2025.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Designated for assignment

The Pirates designated Stratton for assignment Thursday. Stratton lost his spot in Pittsburgh's bullpen Tuesday, and he'll now be pushed off the 40-man roster entirely to create room for Genesis Cabrera, who inked an MLB deal with the Pirates on Thursday. Stratton owns a 4.30 ERA through 52.1 career innings in the majors and carries a 3.91 ERA in Triple-A this year, so he could still land with another team via waivers.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Optioned to Indy

The Pirates optioned Stratton to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday. After giving up three runs in one inning Monday, Stratton will return to the minors, where he owns a 3.91 ERA through 23 innings. Michael Darrell-Hicks will come up from Triple-A to fill the open bullpen spot.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Recalled from Triple-A

The Pirates recalled Stratton from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Stratton -- who has allowed seven runs with a 9:4 K:BB in 11.2 innings with Indianapolis this season -- is taking the roster spot vacated by Dennis Santana, who was placed on the bereavement list. He will likely be up only for a few days while Santana is away.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Throwing simulated game

Pirates senior director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said that Stratton (knee) will throw a simulated game Wednesday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Stratton is coming back from a ruptured patella tendon in his left knee he suffered last August. He's been throwing off a mound for a while and began a running progression last month. Stratton is in camp as a non-roster invitee and it doesn't seem as though he'll be ready for Opening Day. Once healthy, he'll head to Triple-A Indianapolis.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Behind other bullpen options

Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Friday that Stratton (knee) still needs to show he can go through running and pitchers' fielding practice before he can be considered part of the competition for a bullpen spot, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Stratton suffered a ruptured patella tendon in his left knee last August, but his recovery has come along well and he just has a couple boxes left to check. The righty held a 3.58 ERA and 33:7 K:BB across 37.2 frames last season before getting hurt and is in camp as a non-roster invitee.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Back with Bucs

Stratton (knee) signed a minor-league deal with the Pirates on Monday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Stratton was with the Pirates in 2024 and threw 37.2 innings out of the bullpen while maintaining a 3.58 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. His recovery from knee surgery could spill over into the regular season, but he's likely to contribute as a reliever for the big-league club at some point in 2025.

  • Hunter Stratton: Non-tendered by Pirates

The Pirates non-tendered Stratton (knee) on Friday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Stratton's 2024 season was cut short by a ruptured patella tendon in late August, and he's likely to miss the first couple months of the 2025 campaign while recovering from surgery. Despite his injury, the 28-year-old's 3.26 ERA over 49.2 career innings should still be enough to attract interest in free agency from bullpen-needy teams.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Carted off field

Stratton was carted off the field Saturday against Cincinnati with an apparent left knee injury after slipping and falling into the wall tracking down a wild pitch, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Stratton looked to be in serious pain after crashing into the wall and required a cart to exit the field of play. He was grabbing at his left knee following the collision. While it doesn't look good, there should be an update on Stratton's health postgame.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Back from injured list

The Pirates activated Stratton (triceps) from the 15-day injured list Friday. Stratton has been out since mid-June with a right triceps strain but has been cleared to return to the active roster following a few rehab appearances. The 27-year-old holds a 4.26 ERA with a 30:5 K:BB over 31.2 innings out of the bullpen this season.
